Application Guidelines

Dear Student,

We now have an online application. To assist you with this process, please follow the steps below.

Step 1: To login, please visit the Centre for International Experience Student Portal and follow the instructions under: “Students from Other Institutions”.

Step 2: Once you have logged in, select “My Profile” and fill out the appropriate information. After you have completed your profile, please select “Add New Application” to start the online application.

In the following sections, you will be guided through the online application process. Please be advised that you cannot save and exit the application. Once you start the application, you will have to complete it to the end.

We strongly encourage you to read everything carefully as it contains detailed information on course selection, housing and health insurance.

Step 3: After you have completed your application, your home university will receive an email requesting them to review and approve your application. Once your home university has approved your application, the will begin your admission process.

After Completion

You can review your application and profile at any time by logging in to the Centre for International Experience Student Portal. To access your profile select “My Profile” on the side menu.

There are three tabs in “My Profile”: Overview, General Info and Emergency Contact.

“Overview” displays your profile information in the same format the University of Toronto will view it.

“General Info” use the General Info tab to upload your photograph and to update a change of address, or email.

“Emergency Contact” add an emergency contact after completing your application.

Deadlines and Processing Time

Your home university should approve your application by the following deadlines:  March 1 if you are interested in coming here for Graduate-level studies  March 30 if you are interested in coming in the Summer of 2012  April 1 if you are interested in coming here for Commerce/Management or Engineering  May 1 if you are interested in coming here for other Undergraduate-level subjects or Law  June 1 if you are interested in coming here for the second term (January to April) o June 1st is the deadline for guaranteed admission to most Second-Term courses. Please note that applications for January admission can be received later than June 1st, but many Second-Term courses may no longer be available after mid-July.

We will be processing the applications as soon they are complete. Please note the processing time of the online applications may take up to 2 months after submission and graduate-level applications may take longer.

Admission to the University of Toronto If admitted, you will receive an admission package via email. We advise you to check your institutional email often, especially around mid to late June, as during that period we will be emailing our admission packages and instructions about course enrolment. In the admission package, we will include your official admission letter, as well as our welcome package.
