After chatting with pretty much everyone in the room that I already knew, my excursions to get an equal helping of photographs of people I didn’t know lead me to meet a group of 5 guys, all of whom had moved here from Toronto at various times over the past several months. When the dance started to wind down, I once again ended up at the Eagle, and started realizing fi rst hand what it is like to be a social butterfl y…and how the metaphor describes it so well. Finally Sunday rolled around, and man was I beginning to feel exhausted from so much running around. This was by far the busiest day of them all. In the late afternoon, I headed off to the Artists for Quality of Life kick off party at Money- Pennies, and I found out that it was Michele’s Birthday too. Linda Huston commented that she had seen me so much this weekend, and jokingly referred to me as her “community husband”. The butterfl y kept fl uttering until Karaoke started, where I raised a few bucks for AFQOL by singing “Imagine Me and You”...pretty badly for what I know I can do without the nerves. Then I was off to the Eagle – to photograph an event this time: the ISCCA Barbecue and Pool Tournament. Then quite a bit later in the evening, I was off to Twisted to photo- graph a special Sunday drag show with a slough of special guests. I returned home exhausted and humbled, but with a real sense of satisfaction after navigating such a gauntlet of re- sponsibilities. I swear I must have spoken more in those three days than I do in the average month.
