That is not to say that this is not a great work in itself. Having said that, Dick is a good Batman. All's I'm saying is that I've been thinking about what the DC reboot really means for all the long-running superheroes it affected last year. The secondary key character for the other half of the issues is Commissioner Jim Gordon. None of the characters were appealing. As if Gotham isn't full of enough darkness and sickness of the soul. One thing he does extremely well here is write colorful villains in the gangster-plus mode of the best Bat-villains, some of whom are familiar The Joker, Man-Bat and Killer Croc variants , but many of whom are new The Dealer of Mirror House, Roadrunner, Tiger Shark , and come up with scenarios to provide his artists with cool, fantastical, somewhat creepy and off imagery For example, the release of an aviary of exotic birds, filling the city scape with huge, strange birds that don't belong there; Tiger Shark, meanwhile, keeps orcas with him, and the body of one murder victim is found in the belly of a dead orca, found in the lobby of a bank.

But I am inclined to think that all space available in the second volume has been already allocated, and the bringing out of the first volume has been deferred so much longer than I anticipated, that the prospect of the issue of a third volume (in which I hope "The Gordons of Craig," contributed by some one, will find a place), seems too remote for a man considerably beyond three sp:o|e and ten to wait for, especially as some revisal of proofs is requisite. I have, therefore, decided to get a few copies printed for private circulation, and have to thank one or two descendants of the Craig family for kindly contributing to the expense of doing this.     BATMAN: YEAR ONE Pitch by The Wachowski Siblings The scene is Gotham City, in the past. A party is going on and from it descends Thomas Wayne with his wife Martha, and son Bruce. They are talking, with Bruce chatting away about how he wants to see The Mark of Zorro again. Obviously they have just come from a movie premiere. As they turn a corner to their car, they are met by a hooded gunman who tries holding them up. There is a struggle and the Wayne parents are murdered in a bloodbath. Bruce is left there, when he is met by a police officer. There is a screech and a bat flies overhead... Twenty years have passed. Bruce is now twenty-eight and quite dynamic. The main character has been travelling the world, training for a war on crime, to avenge his parents' deaths. He is at the Ludlow International Airport, where his butler Alfred picks him up. The two drive to Wayne Manor, just outside of Gotham. Bruce watches the city from the distance. The scene moves to downtown Gotham, where Bruce is wearing a hockey mask and black clothes. A fight breaks out between him and a pimp which leads to Bruce escaping to a rotting building. Bleeding badly, he doesn't know whether to continue his crusade against crime. A screech fills the area and a bat dives at him, knocking him onto an old chair. Bruce realises his destiny... The opening credits feature Bruce at Wayne Manor, slamming down a hammer on scrap metal, moulding it into shape.

    9 Superheroes Who Have Taken Over The Small Screen Superheroes explode onto silver screens several times a year. The list of superheroes on screen is ever expanding. It wasn’t all that long ago when Superman was Christopher Reeves and Batman was a revolving door of men from Michael Keaton to George Clooney. Since 2000, Marvel has taken the silver screen by storm with their X-men franchise and the Avengers universe. In contrast, the small screen seemed not to fair as well with live-action hero shows until the airing of Smallville in 2001. Even then, it wasn’t until Smallville ended in 2011 that more superheroes started fighting crime every week on our television and computer screens. Let’s take a look at the superheroes of the small screen. Arrow (2012-present) After Smallville ended, a gap in superhero shows appeared and Arrow took its place. Although Green Arrow had originally been part of the Smallville universe, the producers started with a clean slate and hired Stephen Amell to play Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. The show, now in its fourth season, has created two spin-offs to expand the universe and its growing list of DC superheroes. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013-present) After the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the first Avengers film, Marvel decided to create a series with Coulson leading a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. The events of the movies and the show overlap; everything is one huge Marvel experience. In the first season, Thor and Captain America: the Winter Solider affected aspects of the series.
