Let’s get those GS and Tiger machines dirty!!!!!!!**** Nate's Bike Review: NEW Triumph Bonneville Street Twin, T-120, & Thruxton/R Well Triumph finally did it, they listened to the consumer and brought out a motorcycle line that would not only please the customer looking or the classic look but also the customer who is looking for the latest motorcycle technology in an appropriately priced machine. The new Street Twin, T-120, and the long awaited Thruxton 1200 and Thruxton 1200R, fits the bill perfect, and if it doesn’t suit you right out of the box, well, Triumph thought of that as well with multiple kits to upgrade your scooter to your dream machine!!! We are taking pre-orders to secure yourself the very first of these exciting new models that arrive at the dealership. Pick your model, color and package now so we can ensure you the fastest delivery possible for these high demand models. Street Twin – The athletic Bonneville has now been changed to the stunning, adaptable, technologically advanced, STREET TWIN!!!! This is going to change the introductory and classic market, not only in the Triumph World but the entire Motorsport industry, now that you can have something that is reliable and easy to ride with all the safety measures being taken care of with the addition of the following safety equipment and benefits to the Street Twin: ABS, Traction Control, Slip Assist Clutch, Ride By Wire, Liquid Cooling, LED Tail Light, USB Charge Socket, Engine Immobilizer, and all this while being 36% more fuel efficient. There are also going to be huge improvements to the lighting system with the addition of an LED headlight, so not only will the machine perform better with its new power-plant but you will be able to see and be seen better. Remember the word adaptable in the intro to this bike? Well, here is why I mentioned that. You can now buy different kits from Triumph to instantly change the look of your Street Twin to a Scrambler inspired motorcycle, to a more utilitarian Urban Commuter. Check out these 3 exciting options below: 1.) Scrambler – Brushed high level exhaust from Vance & Hines, brown ribbed bench seat, brown “barrel style” handlebar grips, and a brushed aluminum sump guard. 2.) Urban – Black cotton waxes panniers, color-matched fly screen, and brushed Vance & Hines slip on silencers. 3.) Brat Tracker – Brushed Vance & Hines slip on mufflers, black ribbed bench seat, compact LED signals, black “barrel style” handlebar grips, and a brushed sump guard. T-120 – The ALL NEW Triumph Bonneville T-120 starts with an all new chassis and suspension that comes factory with a center stand and houses all the rest of the goodies I’ve been waiting to tell you about. The goodie list consists of: ABS, Traction Control, Slip Assist Clutch, Ride By Wire, Liquid Cooling, LED Tail Light, USB Charge Socket, Engine Immobilizer, Two Rider Modes, Heated Grips, and Finally a 6th Gear. Not only does the engine have more classic aesthetics like accents giving it more of the appearance we remember from our childhood and significantly standing out from the predecessor models, but also produces 54% more torque than the T-100 with 77ft lbs @ 3,100 RPM. There will be new color options available next year. The T-120 Black Line includes two colors in 2016: Jet Black, Matte Graphite. The T-120 family will have the following color options: The Cranberry Red & Aluminum Silver, Jet Black & Cinder White, Cinder Red, and Jet Black. Rumor has it they will start around $11,500 +Set-Up and Freight and should be available in dealers January/February timeframe. Thruxton & Thruxton R – Everybody has been waiting for the release of the new 1200cc Triumph Thruxton with even more attitude and lots more power and suspension than the predecessor and, again, setting the bar for the Urban Classic line of motorcycles in the Vintage/Standard genre. They did an excellent job going back even further in time with the R Model, with the old school “monza” fuel filler, the brushed tank strap, polished top triple, and painted seat cowl, but kept the “edge” of the machine with the aluminum spoke rims. The Thruxton will include: ABS, Traction Control, Slip Assist Clutch, Ride By Wire, Liquid Cooling, LED Tail Light, USB Charge Socket, Engine Immobilizer, new switchgear (6th Gear), and THREE Rider Modes to include: Road – Rain – Sport. One of the biggest improvements I noticed was the switch over to the 17” front tire on both models to allow for more performance tire choices and different, improved, handling characteristics. There was a 62% increase in torque with a whopping 83 ft lbs @ 4950 RPM!!!! The “R” model Thruxton has Brembo Brakes, Race Bred Fully Adjustable Big Piston Forks, and Pirelli Rosso Diablo Corso tires. Triumph took it to the next level with the Track Racer build option. The Racer will feature a sculpted cockpit fairing and lower clip on handlebars, Vance & Hines slip-on exhaust, knurled grips, single painted seat cowl, and leather tank strap. The Thruxton will be available in Pure White with Black Tank Strap, Competition Green with Gold Tank Stripe, or Jet Black. The Thruxton R will be available in Diablo Red and color code, Silver Ice…NICE!!! The pricing we received showed the Thruxton retailing for $12,500 +Set-Up and Freight and the Thruxton R retailing for $14,500 +Set-Up and Freight. We really look forward to it being in dealers April/May of 2016. There will also be two more models released for 2016. The ALL NEW Speed Triple and Speed Triple R with a complete new design and lots of new technology to put back at the top of the ultimate street fighter list. All the new traction control, and mode capabilities, with more power, better sound, and even sexier lines…we’ve got a winner on our hands!!!! The other new release was the Triumph Tiger Explorer 1215 which has been expanded the same way the Tiger 800 was with A and T models. They did improve on the motorcycle with a first ever adventure touring bike with an electric touring screen. Other improvements were the addition of electronic suspension, and they improved the rider modes by adding more options. ________________________________________________________________________________ Nate's Parts/Service Dept.
