Dosier De Bandas En Ingles Y Español 2014 Chicago Blues - John Primer & Bob Stroger (USA/EEUU) John Primer is un pedazo de historia del Blues de Chicago. Tocaba la guitarra en el mítico Theresa's Lounge entre 1974-80. Aprendió su magnífica técnica del Slide con Sammy Lawhorn , guitarrista de Muddy Waters. Se unió a The Chicago Blues All-Stars de Willie Dixon en 1979 y la banda de Muddy Waters hasta la muerte de este en 1983. John Primer is the part of the Chicago Blues history, he played guitar at Theresa's, a club in Chicago, between 1974 and 1980. He was influenced by Muddy Waters' former sideman, Sammy Lawhorn, who taught him to play slide guitar. He joined the Chicago Blues All-Stars of Willie Dixon in 1979, then the Muddy Waters's band until the latter's death in 1983. Then he joined the Teardrops of Magic Slim and began a solo career on Wolf Records. Bob Stroger is a Blues Legend. He played with all the greatest, Otis Rush, Sunnyland Slim, Jimmy Rogers, Willie Mabon, Snooky Pryor.... Since late 90's he started out his singing following the advice of his friend Sunnyland Slim who loved his singing. Bob and John are two real Chicago Blues Men. They are backed up by the young European Band of Luca Giordano and Quique Gomez. These two Chicago Lovers backed many great Chicago Blues Legends like Jimmy Burns, Bob Stroger, Eddie C Campbell, Eric Guitar Davis and they have tour on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Bob Margolin & the Tota Blues Band (USA/SPAIN EEUU/Espana) Bob Margolin hoy en día, es uno de los pocos guitarristas que siguen con el espíritu real del “Chicago Blues”. Fue miembro de “ Muddy Waters Blues Band ” de 1973 a 1980, y se puede decir que es la referencia más fiel de Muddy hasta el momento. Aparte de grabar para los sellos discográficos más relevantes del género, Bob también ganó el premio al mejor guitarrista de Blues en 2008 entre otros premios. Cuando gira por Europa solo, Tota Blues Band es su banda exclusive y oficial. Bob Margolin is one of the guitarists who keep the spirit of real “Chicago Blues” alive today. He was a member of the “Muddy Waters Blues Band” from 1973 to 1980, and we could say that he is Muddy’s most faithful reference at the moment. Apart from recording for the most relevant record labels of the genre, Bob has also won the “Blues Music Award for guitar” in 2008 among other awards. Jerimiah Marques & The Blues Aces (Reino Unido/UK) Jerimiah Marques es simplemente extraordinario. A great mix of old classics brought up to date by Mama Paula, one of the most respected blues guitarist/singers in Spain. Mama Paula shared the stage at the Royal Albert Hall with the likes of Joe Cocker, Mark Knopfler and Van Morrison to say goodbye to the late-great Lonnie Donegan. She also jammed with the lat Alvin Lee. She is joined in her band by Marcelo Saenz, Dr Moonlight, Alberto Solar & Rog Vondersscmidt. Robin Robertson Band (Scotland/Escocia) La banda esta compuesta por cinco músicos profesionales amantes del Blues. Tocan una mezcla única de Blues fusionado con Jazz y RnB. Sus influencias vienen de artistas muy diversas como: Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Katie Webster, Rae Charles y Scott Henderson . Todos son músicos trabajando en una variedad de conjuntos de orquestas, grupos de Jazz, y también apoyan a otras artistas como músicos en sus sesiones. Su disco nuevo, RRBB, ha recibido el reconocimiento de los críticos, opiniones excelentes en revistas y la Web, y además, muchas emisoras de radio inglesas y europeas (y uno en Argentina!) han puesto su música en sus emisoras. Three albums resulted from these collaborative exchanges which have been popular among fans, but also matters of controversy among blues purists: The London Muddy Waters Sessions, The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions, and Fleetwood Mac: Blues Jam in Chicago. Some feel that the American masters did not play to their own potential, and the white, British sidemen sound weak in comparison with their black, American counterparts. These reflections call into question the ability of the British musicians to achieve authentic blues, as well as the ability of the American players to remain authentic in a collaborative environment. In 2002, musicologist, Allan Moore published his article “Authenticity as Authentication,” wherein, he outlined a tripartite typology that can be uses as a basis for evaluating musical performances in terms of the perception of authenticity by those experiencing it. Moore's typology classifies the factors of authenticity into “first-, second-, and third-person.” Or “authenticity of: 'expression,' 'experience,' and 'execution'”.

    Bob Margolin January 2012 I was born in Boston in 1949 and was brought up in nearby Brookline, Massachusetts. Inspired by Chuck Berry, I started to play guitar in 1964 and began playing in Rock bands right away. I soon followed the path of Chuck Berry’s inspiration back to the Blues. I was especially taken by the music of Muddy Waters and listened to as much of it as I could find. I worked in Blues or Blues-Rock bands in the Boston area, including with Luther “Georgia Boy” “Snake” Johnson, and The Boston Blues Band. In August, 1973, I went to see Muddy at Paul’s Mall in Boston. He had seen me in opening bands and had been very encouraging to me because I was trying to play his style of “Old School” (Muddy’s term) Chicago Blues. He had just lost long-time guitarist Sammy Lawhorn and he hired me to play in his band. While most musicians in modern times learn from listening to recordings, Muddy put me on his right side on the bandstand so I could watch him play guitar. I sure appreciated that opportunity while it was happening, and tried to use it to learn to give Muddy what he wanted on the bandstand, and for myself. Muddy’s band toured the world and jammed with many great Blues and Rock musicians, but the biggest thrill was playing Muddy’s blues with him. He brought me with him to special shows and recordings too, when sometimes he didn’t use his whole band, to give him a familiar sound when he worked with other musicians: In 1975, we recorded Grammy® Award-winning Muddy Waters Woodstock Album, his last with Chess Records, featuring Paul Butterfield, and Levon Helm and Garth Hudson from The Band.
