DHS is the beginning point for all of the following services. In order to receive assistance, the main number must be contacted first. DHS can link a Participant Mom with the following resources: 1) Food Stamp Program (SNAP) 2) Families First  Families First provides assistance to families and their children who are experiencing financial difficulties with an emphasis in work, training, and personal responsibility. 3) Child Care Certificate Program  Child care assistance program for children of low income participating in the Families First Program  Offers child care providers and rates  Child care resources for parents. Provides food, day shelter, and medical clinic. Helps families regain self-sufficiency. Must provide proof of marriage.

14) Coordinated Effort to Enhance Development (CEED) - 3720 Alumni Ave. Contact: (901) 678.2000 |Loretta Rudd, [email protected]  The Coordinated Effort to Enhance Development (CEED) project is a multi-disciplinary approach to enhancing social and emotional development in young children with a coordinated effort with early care and learning professionals (ex. childcare directors, childcare teachers, families participating in childcare services).  The CEED will target zip codes with the densest population of children under age 4 as well as the highest percentage of households at or below the poverty level. Early care and learning professionals and parents of young children will receive training in an effort to enhance knowledge and skills in social, emotional, and language development which are necessary skills for kindergarten readiness and ultimately for 3rd grade reading. The Tennessee Department of Health announced drive- thru coronavirus assessment sites Wednesday in several counties across the state. In Shelby County, Christ Community Health Services will offer remote assessment for COVID-19 at one location on 3rd Street Saturday morning by appointment only.

Bill Lee says the state is working with private providers to provide drive-thru assessment sites so people can avoid unnecessary risks. The Tennessee Department of Health recommends that all Tennesseans should first call their usual source of care if experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. Eviction Settlement Fund - Partnership of Memphis and Shelby County to provide emergency relief during COVID-19 Pandemic. Program Description- This program targets those individuals facing eviction or at high risk of eviction as a result of the pandemic or facing housing instability due to an eviction. It offers direct access to legal services to negotiate directly with property owners to settle the delinquency, have the eviction case dropped, or raise available defenses in court, or on appeal.
