Stars of the Star Trek Universe Visiting Cupertino During Iconic TV Shows 50th Anniversary Year Fans will get a chance to mingle, ask questions in two-day special event, “Star Trek – The Future & You”

Fans of the iconic TV show “Star Trek” are invited to an out-of-this-world opportunity to mark the show’s 50th anniversary at a two-day special event in Cupertino this fall. Two members of the original cast, BarBara Luna and Sean Kenney, and one member of the successful “Star Trek: Voyager” spin-off, Garrett Wang, will take part in “Star Trek – The Future & You,” starting with a meet-and-greet on Saturday, Nov. 5, followed by a special presentation on Sunday, Nov. 6. The events are free to the community with advance registration, thanks to the cooperation between The Cupertino Library Foundation, Bluelight Cinemas, the Cupertino Hotel, and Ding Ding TV.

The three actors, along with award-winning writer Marc Cushman, author of a set of books about Star Trek and several Star Trek episodes, will answer questions not only about the show, but also about science fiction and science, screenwriting, Hollywood, and their own life experiences.

The special events launch with cocktails at a meet-and-greet at 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, in the newly renovated Cupertino Hotel. Attendees will have the chance to speak with Luna, Kenney, and Wang (pronounced “Wong”), as well as take photos with the stars.

The following day, at 1 p.m., the stars will take the stage at the Bluelight Cinemas. A special 30-minute video will be screened, followed by a time of Q&A, autograph signings, and photo opportunities.

This two-day event is a rare opportunity to meet, greet, question, and watch some of the actors, writers, producers, and directors in our hometown of Cupertino, in the very heart of Silicon Valley. With these three actors and one producer and director, the Cupertino Library Foundation, Bluelight Cinemas, Cupertino Hotel, and Ding Ding TV bring over 100 years of Hollywood experience to the city. This is an incredible opportunity for not only fans of “Star Trek” and science fiction, but also for students and anyone with aspirations to learn more about acting, writing, producing, or directing from people who have long experience in these disciplines and continue to be active in the Hollywood scene.

To reserve your free seat at the Cocktail Party Meet and Greet on Saturday at the Cupertino Hotel or the free Special Screening and Q&A session at Bluelight Cinemas, please go tohttp://cupertinolibraryfoundation.org/star-trek-meet-stars/ today before tickets run out. BarBara Luna

"Luna" as she prefers to be called started her career in theater and was cast in musicals such as “,” “,” and “Teahouse of the August Moon.” She was discovered by director Mervyn Leroy and appeared in many films with actors such as , James Stewart and Henry Fonda, to name just a few.

In the Star Trek episode “Mirror, Mirror,” she was cast as Marlena Moreau, the romantic lead with William Shatner.

Walter Koernig replaced him as Gene Roddenberry was being pressured to have a Russian crewmember on the “Star Trek” TV series. However, Gene introduced Sean to producers on the Paramount lot and this led to roles on “Get Smart,” “Police Story,” and starring roles on many independent films.

While waiting for acting roles he pursued his love of the camera and became the leading headshot photographer in Hollywood. Twenty years ago he discovered a niche in the real estate industry of photographing realtors for their promotional materials and is known as the premier photographer in the real estate industry nationwide.

He has a cameo role in the soon to be released film "Unbelievable,” a spoof on “Star Trek.”
