YOUNG HOKIES BALL OUT IN BOWL GAME • A group of young Hokies took advantage of their opportunities in the final two games of the season in 2017, especially in the Camping World Bowl against Oklahoma State. • Their performances showed Hokie Nation a glimpse into the future as DB Khalil Ladler, DL Houshun Gaines, WR Hezekiah Grimsley and WR Phil Patterson notched either their first starts of the season or career-best numbers in the final two games of the season. • Gaines and Ladler started the final two games of the season while Grimsely and Patterson set career highs in receiving yards against the Cowboys.
