[email protected]> 1. Robert Wellys was taxed at Whichford, County Warwick, England, in 1523. Perhaps the father of at least two of the following children, order of births unknown: 2. i. Thomas Welles, died 1558. ii. Walter Welles, of Tredington and Tidmington, County Worcester, England, died between 1 December 1577, the date of his will, and 9 December 1577; unmarried, apparently died without children. iii. William Welles, perhaps a brother of Thomas and Walter, who was taxed at Whichford in 1542, and perhaps the father of some of the children whose baptisms are recorded on the early pages of the Whichford registers. 2. Thomas Welles, of Stourton, Whichford, County Warwick, England, buried there 30 August 1558; probably the Thomas Welles who was taxed at Whichford in 1542; administration on his estate was granted, 8 October 1558, to his brother Walter Welles of Tredington, County Worcester, for the benefit of his children, Robert and Ann, until one of them should attain the age of 21 years; probably married first, Elizabeth, who was buried at Whichford 11 January 1552; and secondly, 28 October 1553, at Whichford, Elizabeth Bryan, who was perhaps the Elizabeth Welles of Stourton who was buried 4 October 1558; at least two children by first marriage. Children of Thomas Welles and Elizabeth: i. Ann Welles, under 21 years of age on 8 October 1558. 3. ii. Robert Welles, under 21 years of age on 8 October 1558; probably the Robert Welles of Stourton who was baptized 6 November 1540.
