Welcome! Welcome to the St. Rita textbook link. We are confident that you will find that this resource is easy to use. Your experience here will be enhanced if you pay attention to the following: • Do all viewing and purchasing on your son’s iPad. Do not use a smart phone, including an iPhone. • To ensure that you are purchasing the books that match your son’s classes, wait to buy until you have his schedule in hand. On the link, honors courses are designated with an “H.” • Every book uses an app to access it, and most books are found through the iBooks, Kindle and CourseSmart apps. However, a variety of classes require other apps. Before purchasing, peruse the “view or purchase textbooks” link to see which apps you will need to download based on your schedule. We recommend that you download apps before purchasing texts. • Every St. Rita student has a summer reading requirement. All students must click on the Summer Reading button to see what the required texts are for summer reading. AP World History sophomores will have to check the button for that class and the All Sophomores button. • Some texts offer the option to rent or buy. If you want to rent a text, be sure that you are aware of the course length (1 semester or all year) and the duration of the rental. • Pay attention to any special directions in red under book titles. • This link will remain active during the school year in case you want to buy books for second semester classes at a later date. • You may notice an “I want to sell my books” link. This option does not apply to St. Rita, since all our books are electronic. Purchasing and Accessing Your Textbooks While the majority of the required digital textbooks are either iBooks or Kindle books, there are a few other distributors that require a specific app to access their books. Below are the directions for purchasing, downloading and accessing textbooks from each of the distributors. All user names and passwords used to create accounts for these purchases should be written down as they will be needed to access purchased books on your iPad. To simplify the process, all purchases should be made on the student iPad.
