For information on how to apply and register early, contact Admissions at 860.255.3500. Final in-person registration is Jan. 17, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Jan. 18, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Financial aid and payment plans are available for those full- and part-time credit students who qualify. With smaller-sized classes, personal attention, lower-cost tuition, and a top-notch faculty, Tunxis offers over 60 associate’s degrees and certificates that respond to career opportunities and workforce needs in such fields as health careers; human services; technological studies; business; early childhood education; and liberal arts and sciences, among others. Some of the new courses for spring include “Pueblo Indians,” “Medical Coding II,” “Perspectives in Gambling Addiction,” “Multicultural Literature of the American Southwest,” “Creating Writing: Screenwriting;” “History & Culture of Immigrant Groups in America;” and “Environmental Science.” For those who seek the flexibility of learning off-campus, many online courses are available. Online associate’s degrees in general studies and criminal justice, and criminal justice: corrections are also offered. Many students start their education at Tunxis and transfer to some of the best colleges and universities in the country. Transferable !credits have enabled Tunxis students to pursue higher degrees at institutions such as University of !Connecticut, Connecticut State Universities, Trinity College, Yale University, Harvard University, Cornell !University, St. Joseph College, Wesleyan University, Quinnipiac University, Georgetown University, Smith !College, University of Notre Dame, Northwestern University, Clark University, Arizona State University, !and UCLA. Continuing education (non-credit) registration is ongoing, for training in professions in need of skilled !employees, such as Electricians’ License Renewal Training; Lean Enterprise; Certified !Nurse Aide; Medical Billing & Coding Certificate, phlebotomy technician certification; pharmacy technician; central sterile processing technician !training; patient care technician training; EKG technician training; and computers. Choose from a variety of courses in career/workforce development; small !business; real estate license preparation; health and leisure; investment and finance; and personal enrichment; as well as older !adult courses.
