  • Fast Parts for Faster Cars
BATBATBAT Fast Parts For Faster Cars Formula Ford 1600 Club Ford 1600 Ford 2000 Sports 2000 4 -Cylinder Ford Powered Parts Catalog BAT - your headquarters for FF1600 & FF2000 2 A word from Peter One July afternoon in 1967 I stood at the Paddock Bend of Brands Hatch Race Track in England and watched 14 freshly painted single-seat race cars take to the track driven by a bunch of unknown drivers, hopeful I'm sure that this could be the start of a successful career as a racing driver. I felt a tingle of excitement myself and a feeling that somehow these little, affordable, cars would finally bring me into a more active role in motor racing. That race was the first Formula Ford race ever held in the world, from which grew a legendary training ground for many modern greats in motor sport. World Champions such as James Hunt, Jody Schecter, Aryton Senna and Emerson Fittipaldi all cut their teeth in Formula Ford. The list of famous Formula Ford "graduates" worldwide is too long to mention here, but impressive it is. Formula Ford has now grown into other step-up formula such as Formula Ford 2000, Sports 2000 and yes, even Formula Atlantic. Since Formula Ford allowed me to become active in motor racing and because I was always helping out my fellow competitors in the USA by acquiring hard to get racing equipment from my native England, it was only natural that British American Transfer or BAT as you know us would evolve. Throughout the years we have expanded our racing expertise beyond Formula Ford to all 4 Cylinder Ford based racing cars.

HSCC HISTORIC FORMULA FORD 1600 CHAMPIONSHIP Sponsored by Carless Race Fuels with Vital Equipment In association with Avon Tyres, Supported by Radio Caroline Rounds 14 and 15: Oulton Park, 26 August Grant does the Oulton Park double Former double champion Callum Grant was the class act of the Historic Formula Ford 1600 Championship with an impressive brace of victories at the Oulton Park Gold Cup on Bank Holiday Monday (26 August ). Having hit engine problems in his Formula Ford 2000 Delta on Sunday, Callum Grant went back to Bolton on Sunday evening to fetch his Merlyn Mk20 for Monday’s Historic FF qualifying and double-header and duly took a double win over Pierre Livingston. Ben Tusting narrowly beat Clive Richards to third in both races as Richards headed Ted Pearson in the Over 50s division. With championship leader Cameron Jackson electing to miss this event, Grant used his local knowledge to good effect in qualifying on Monday morning to set the pace by just under half a second from Livingston in the first of the Speedsport Merlyns. It was a good showing from Livingston on his first experience of the challenging Cheshire track and he had just over a second in hand over 3rd place Danny Stanzl and leading Over 50s qualifier Clive Richards. James Buckton and Ben Tusting both had mechanical problems, Ben getting 5 th place with only 2 laps qualifying was pretty amazing. James, driving for the injured (Hamstring went at home, get-well soon) Louis Hanjoul, only managed one lap and had to start at the back.

(If it is physically impossible to obtain RPM data from an inductive pickup or direct sensor due to vehicle configuration, the Dyno operator must note on the Dyno sheet the method used for obtaining RPM data, and the reason for not using an inductive pickup or direct sensor, and the competitor must notify the Race Director and/or TT Director before competition). 5) At least three (3) separate, reproducible tests shall be made for each Fuel/Timing Map/boost controller setting, with graphs printed together on the same sheet, with horsepower and torque on the Y-axis and RPM on the X-axis. SAE J1349 Rev JUN 90 correction shall be used, along with a smoothing factor of five (5). 6) The numerical table of horsepower and RPM for the run with the highest Max HP shall be printed out in 50 RPM increments (unless the competitor elects to simply use Max HP for all classing calculations).
