Business Overview of Lennar Corporation We are the largest homebuilder in the United States by home sale revenues and net earnings, an originator of residential and commercial mortgage loans, a provider of title insurance and closing services and a developer of multifamily rental properties. In addition, we are involved in a venture that will invest in single family rental homes, and we have interests in companies that are engaged in applying technology to improve the homebuilding industry and real estate related aspects of the financial services industry. Our homebuilding operations are the most substantial part of our business, generating $21.0 billion in revenues, or approximately 93% of consolidated revenues, in fiscal 2020. As of November 30, 2020, our reportable homebuilding segments and Homebuilding Other had divisions located in: East: Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and South Carolina Central: Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Texas: Texas West: Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington Other: Urban divisions Our other reportable segments are Financial Services, Multifamily and Lennar Other. About Our Company Our company was founded as a local Miami homebuilder in 1954. We completed our initial public offering in 1971 and listed our common stock on the New York Stock Exchange in 1972. During the 1980s and 1990s, we entered and expanded operations in a number of homebuilding markets, including California, Florida and Texas, through both organic growth and acquisitions, such as Pacific Greystone Corporation in 1997. In 2000, we acquired U.S. Home Corporation, which expanded our operations into New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Minnesota and Colorado and strengthened our position in other states. From 2002 through 2005, we acquired several regional homebuilders, which brought us into new markets and strengthened our position in several existing markets. From 2010 through 2013, we expanded our homebuilding operations into Georgia, Oregon, Washington and Tennessee. In 2017, we acquired WCI Communities, Inc., a homebuilder of luxury single and multifamily homes, including a small number of luxury high-rise tower units, in Florida. In 2018, we acquired CalAtlantic Group, Inc. ("CalAtlantic"), a major homebuilder which was building homes across the homebuilding spectrum, from entry level to luxury, in 43 metropolitan statistical areas spanning 19 states, and providing mortgage, title and escrow services. In fiscal 2020, as the coronavirus ("COVID-19") pandemic caused the shutdown of large portions of our national economy, we accelerated various technology initiatives that made our home sale process safer, including selling homes virtually or through self-guided tours and digital closings. As a robust housing market took shape, technology initiatives also helped meet strong housing demand. We are focused on increasing the efficiencies in our building process and reducing selling, general and administrative expenses by using technology, deferring home sale price commitments until construction costs are finalized to protect against anticipated future cost escalations and using innovative strategies to reduce customer acquisition costs. We also continue to focus on divesting non- core assets, possibly including our Multifamily platform, and migrating toward being more of a pure-play homebuilding and financial services company. In addition, we are continuing our pivot to a land light operating model by controlling the timing of land purchases, reducing our years owned supply of homesites and increasing the percentage of land controlled through options or agreements versus owned land. This included entering into arrangements in which third parties or joint ventures will purchase land we designate and give us options to purchase the land in the future. Shortly after the end of fiscal 2020, we entered into a venture that will invest in single family rental homes. Homebuilding Operations Overview Our homebuilding operations include the construction and sale of single-family attached and detached homes as well as the purchase, development and sale of residential land directly and through entities in which we have investments. New home deliveries, including deliveries from unconsolidated entities, were 52,925 in fiscal 2020, compared to 51,491 in fiscal 2019 and 45,627 in fiscal 2018. We primarily sell homes in communities targeted to first-time, move-up, active adult, and luxury homebuyers. During 2020, we emphasized communities that targeted first time homebuyers, many of whom were moving out of urban locations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Brookfield Residential Properties Inc. 2015 ANNUAL REPORT December 31, 2015 President & Chief Executive Officer’s Report In 2015, Brookfield Residential continued to reinforce our long-term approach to the business with a focus on performing in mixed-market conditions and identifying opportunities to increase our presence in each of the markets in which we operate. While Brookfield Residential is no longer a public company, little has changed in the way we operate. We remain focused on generating value from our sizable land portfolio located in select markets across North America. Brookfield Residential continued to deliver results in 2015 despite a tough Alberta economic environment and a weaker Canadian dollar. Our 2015 income before income taxes was $153 million which saw our Company close 2,729 homes and 2,936 single-family lots (including our share of unconsolidated entities). This represents a 19% increase in home closings and a 20% increase in lot closings when compared to 2014. However, as we report our overall results in U.S. dollars, we encountered variability through the translation of our Canadian results given the 14% decline in the year-to- date average Canadian foreign exchange rate in 2015 when compared to 2014. Performing in Mixed-Market Conditions Looking at the U.S. market, housing activity has remained strong and we are encouraged with the underlying fundamentals in our markets. We believe the amendments made to the mortgage rules and the reductions in Federal Housing Administration (“FHA”) premiums have had a positive impact in certain of our markets. We continue to believe that the significant pent-up demand, improving employment numbers and increasing consumer confidence will result in continued recovery of the housing market.

    Study of the Possible Effect of Problem Drywall Presence on Foreclosures Report to Congress July 17, 2012 Summary Overview This report is HUD’s response to section 1494 of the Dodd-Frank Act, which required the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury, to conduct a study of the effect on residential mortgage loan foreclosures of: (1) the presence in residential structures subject to such mortgage loans of drywall that was imported from China during the period beginning with 2004 and ending at the end of 2007; and (2) the availability of property insurance for residential structures in which such drywall is present. The report begins by providing context and background information regarding drywall imported from China, its presence in the U.S. homebuilding market, and the recent problems associated with it. It then calculates the extent of possible impacts associated with problem drywall by estimating of the number of residences built with drywall imported from China, the geographic distribution of these units, and the fraction of units affected. Following this assessment of scope and scale, the report examines how the presence of problem drywall might catalyze a foreclosure. This section includes discussion of the indirect consequences of problem drywall, the primary causes of foreclosure in the U.S. housing market, and whether property insurance mitigates the problems caused by some of the Chinese drywall. The report concludes with recommendations and a summary of key findings. Key Findings. The newly dubbed 'Great Recession' is a worldwide phenomenon, which some have called the first true crisis of the era of globalization. It crippled banks around the world, from Iceland to Hong Kong. It hit global trade hard in early 2009, with severe fall-offs from Korea to Germany. It crashed housing markets from Spain to South Africa. And it left millions unemployed, from Sheffield to Shenzhen (Krugman 2008, Henwood 2009, Stiglitz 2010). The intensity of the downturn was bound to be felt unevenly across the globe, no matter how well-integrated world markets have become. Places dependent on housing construction, large capital goods manufacturing, exports, and speculative finance have suffered the most. Not only is the U.S. economy the largest in the world, its exaggerated household debt, rampant financial speculation, and ballooning trade deficits were critical elements of the financial collapse that triggered the general downturn.     Private Equity Stakeholder Project (PESP) – Statement for the Record July 27, 2021 Hearing of the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis Oversight of Pandemic Evictions: Assessing Abuses by Corporate Landlords and Federal Efforts to Keep Americans in Their Homes Chairman Clyburn, Ranking Member Scalise, and members of the Subcommittee, thank you for the opportunity to provide a statement regarding the March 25, 2021 hearing “Oversight of Pandemic Evictions: Assessing Abuses by Corporate Landlords and Federal Efforts to Keep Americans in Their Homes” by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis. My name is Jim Baker and I am the executive director of the Private Equity Stakeholder Project. The Private Equity Stakeholder Project is a non-profit organization focused on tracking the impacts of investments by private equity firms and similar Wall Street firms on ordinary people, including residents of apartments, rental homes, and mobile home communities. Since early in the pandemic, we have tracked eviction filings by private equity firms and other corporate landlords across dozens of counties in several states – Florida, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Arizona, and Nevada. What we have seen is striking. Private equity firms and other corporate landlords have filed to evict at least 75,000 residents since the Trump administration put a moratorium in place to halt evictions last September, which has since been extended by Congress and the Biden administration. These filings have disproportionately impacted residents of color, particularly Black renters. In some cases, corporate landlords have refused to accept rental assistance even after their residents have been approved for it. Tracking evictions by corporate landlords Since April 2020, the Private Equity Stakeholder Project has tracked eviction filings by private equity firms and other corporate landlords across dozens of counties in Florida, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Arizona, and Nevada.
