Auch der Sportbetrieb war von der Absage von Trainingseinheiten und Turnieren betroffen. Als Sportlandes- rat freut es mich deshalb nun sehr, dass die Austrian Squash Challenge heuer doch noch stattfinden kann. Auch der Sport in Salzburg ist stark von den Auswirkungen der Corona-Pandemie betroffen. Es war mir daher ein großes Anliegen, dass wir rasch unseren Vereinen helfen. Mit über einer Million Euro an Sofort- hilfe, die an unsere Sportvereine gegangen sind, ist der Salzbur- ger Sport bis dato gut durch die Krise gekommen. Vor allem für unseren Nachwuchs ist es wichtig, dass solche Veranstaltungen wie die Austrian Squash Challenge stattfinden, um mehr Kinder und Jugendliche für den Sport zu begeistern. Ich hoffe, dass viele das Angebot nutzen und die Kids & School Days besuchen.
