Good Luck! Callback Participants Charlie Brown Callback Information Congratulations on being asked to attend callbacks. We have a lot of terrific talent this year, and it is going to be fun to see you all again on Saturday. The following page lists who is being called back for each role. Please do a thorough read of this to make sure you find your name each time it is listed. Some people will be called back for one part and others will be seen for multiple roles. The next sheet will list the times that each part will need to attend and what you will be doing during that time slot. Please be sure to arrive at least 10 minutes early so you are prepared and available. If you have been given a song to sing at your callbacks, it is your responsibility to learn it before you arrive. We will briefly go over your song(s) with the group before you perform, but we will not be teaching the songs at that time. You will find the sheet music attached to this paper, and we will give you a chance to sing through the song as a group with the accompaniment before you audition. Due to time constraints, please arrive vocally warmed up. We will not have time to do this as a group. If you have been asked to dance, you will be taught a dance at callbacks. Please dress in clothes and shoes that you can move easily in. In addition, you will want to warm yourselves up before you arrive. There will not be time to stretch and warm up. If you do this on your own, you will be better prepared to perform. If you have been given a script to read, you will be reading it with the other characters and may be asked to do it several times. You need to act this out, not just read it. Remember that the purpose of callbacks is so the directors can see you in a specific roll and/or to see you do something different from your original audition. It is very important that you try to present your best performance. Preparing for these auditions will be to your benefit. Memorization is not required, but it will be to your benefit to go over things well enough that you are very comfortable with the material. Give every role your very best effort. Please note that because you are being called back for a specific part does not mean you will get this part. Also note that you may very likely be cast in a role you are not being called back for. Callbacks will be held at the Keith Christensen Theater in Pleasant Grove. It is located in the basement of the PG Library (30 East Center Street). It is easiest to enter in the back door on the lower level. Please arrive on time and prepared. Unfortunately there will not be any make up dates for those who are unable to attend callbacks. Initial Call AND Callbacks please prepare: -16 to 32 bars of a song of your choice that demonstrates personality! INSTRUCTIONS: Be sure to bring your picture and resume, otherwise we will not have one in the room! Thanks so much! W | S Casting FRANKLIN & PIG PEN SIDES Lucy Franklin, you’re a shepherd. FRANKLIN Every Christmas it’s the same. I always end up playing a shepherd. PIG PEN Pig Pen is known for being constantly dirty, insulted constantly by everybody. He is very cool and accepts himself regardless. Side #1 Lucy Pig Pen, you’re the innkeeper. Pig Pen In spite of my outward appearance, I shall try to run a neat inn. Side #2 Frieda I can’t go on. There’s too much dust. It’s taking the curl out of my naturally curly hair. Charlie Brown Don’t think of it as dust. Think of it as maybe the soil or some great, past civilization. Maybe the soil of ancient Babylon. It staggers the imagination.

Hauntingly, his words speak as a message to all of us on how to live our lives. They certainly ref lect how he lived his. Peace, Mr. Guyton. God bless you. Good Evening Ladies & Gentlemen, Tonight we celebrate the life of Charles Schulz--illustrator, writer, and creator of the Peanuts characters. What we are presenting on stage is an average day in the life of Charlie Brown. These vignettes range from baseball season, Charlie Brown missing the bus, Valentine’s Day, and a series of other typical events in the land of the Peanuts characters. It is our hope that you will f ind yourself thinking back over your lif e, and reminiscing on your childhood. Maybe thinking about old friends, school ass ignments you had trouble with, friends who think they know it all, challenges you’ve had to deal with, etc. Take those thoughts and memories and then reflect on the ‘now’ moments in life. Hopefully the good outweighs the bad and from there, you can settle on happiness, and being happy with your life. Happiness: What is it to you? A feeling of satisfaction or fulfillment, when your lif e f ulf ills your needs, when you are content and are living in the now—reflecting on the good things you have been blessed to have.
