The affect to poor people in urban and rural areas and the concrete action taken by the Government to tackle this matter. 9. PR-1251-L48820 Dato' Mohd Jidin bin Shafee [ Setiu ] to ask the MINISTER OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND THE ENVIRONMENT to state the short-term and long- term measures taken and to be taken by the Government in tackling coastal erosion incidents, particularly the states in the East Coast of the peninsula which is obvious at present. 10. PR-1251-L48238 Tuan Sivarasa a/l K.Rasiah [ Subang ] to ask the MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS to state the status of implementing all the recommendations of the Universal Periodic Review evaluation process (UPR) on Human Rights Council of the United Nations issued in February 2009 including the ratification recommendation on the ICCPR, ICESCR, CAT and CERD conventions. 11. PR-1251-L48488 Tuan Haji Mohd Nor bin Othman [ Hulu Terengganu ] to ask the MINISTER OF INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION AND CULTURE to state measures to be taken by the Government to promote the discovery of inscribed stone in Hulu Terengganu as an area that could attract tourists. 12. The efforts formulated by the Ministry to allow this dropped out students to get second chance in improving their knowledge and skills so that they can positively contribute to the development of the nation. 3 OPDR 2/4/2012 14. PR-1251-L48980 Tuan Lim Lip Eng [ Segambut ] to ask the MINISTER OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND THE ENVIRONMENT to state list of protected species of wildlife nationwide, the estimated number of wildlife still living so far and number of people arrested in possession of those animals and the number of animals involved since 2008. 15. PR-1251-L48099 Tuan William @ Nyallau Anak Badak [ Lubok Antu ] to ask the MINISTER OF RURAL AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT to state total allocation provided by the Government for 2012 for the following projects: - (a) rural electricity supply and name the longhouses and villages involved; and (b) clean water supply and name the longhouses and villages involved. 16. PR-1251-L48357 Puan Siti Zailah binti Mohd. Yusoff [ Rantau Panjang ] to ask the MINISTER OF FINANCE to state position of national debt since 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 either domestic and foreign debt. 17. PR-1251-L48039 Datuk Sapawi bin Haji Ahmad [ Sipitang ] to ask the MINISTER OF EDUCATION to state the amount spent to repair dilapidated schools in rural areas, particularly Sabah and Sarawak. 18. PR-1251-L48542 Dato' Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail [ Machang ] to ask the MINISTER OF HOME AFFAIRS to state the status of "Kedah Malay Muslims" in Bukit Malut Langkawi, their country of origin, the number, whether they are citizens of Malaysia and be given the right to vote in election in Malaysia. 19. PR-1251-L48137 Tuan Mohd Nizar bin Zakaria [ Parit ] to ask the MINISTER OF HIGHER EDUCATION to state :- (a) what is the meaning of academic freedom among undergraduates in public institutions of higher learning (IPTA); and (b) whether expressing knowledge has a limit which impede the intellectual of those undergraduates. 20. PR-1251-L48868 Dr. Haji Dzulkefly bin Ahmad [ Kuala Selangor ] to ask the MINISTER OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INDUSTRY to state how DRB-Hicom the prime owner of Proton which also owns its subsidiaries can overcome the issue of conflict of interest with component manufacturing vendors and other Proton dealers. PR-1251-L48342 Tuan Abdullah Sani bin Abdul Hamid [ Kuala Langat ] to ask the MINISTER OF HUMAN RESOURCES to state the study on the suitability of the measures and allocations indicated in SOCSO because they are outdated and no longer compatible with current demand. 23. PR-1251-L47555 Tuan Ding Kuong Hiing [ Sarikei ] to ask the MINISTER OF HEALTH to state the extent in the effort of the Government to upgrade Sarikei Hospital to Specialist Hospital in the next five years. State also the efforts taken towards that direction. 24. PR-1251-L47739 Dr. Che Rosli bin Che Mat [ Hulu Langat ] to ask the MINISTER OF ENERGY, GREEN TECHNOLOGY AND WATER to state annual electricity needs in Peninsular Malaysia and whether alternative sources of energy at present will accommodate that need. 25. PR-1251-L48972 Dato' Noraini binti Ahmad [ Parit Sulong ] to ask the MINISTER OF HOME AFFAIRS to state the measures taken in tackling Malaysia's issue of becoming a transit for human trafficking. This illegal activity has caused loss of lives when trawler boats used to smuggle these people sank in several incidents. 26. PR-1251-L48848 Tuan Wee Choo Keong [ Wangsa Maju ] to ask the MINISTER OF FINANCE to state what is the policy of the Ministry when renting out land belonging to the Federal Government, provide a list of description of the empty land, the duration of the rental period, the monthly rental and names of individual or organization or company renting each of the said empty land in Wilayah Persekutuan including Lot 28261, Geran 70523, Mukim Setapak, Kuala Lumpur in Prima Setapak. 27. PR-1251-L47174 Dato' Dr. Mohamad Shahrum bin Osman [ Lipis ] to ask the PRIME MINISTER to state the statement by the Member from Permatang Pauh in The Wall Street Journal that gives the impression that the Parliament of Malaysia is also supporting his stance as the Opposition Leader regarding the security of Israel. 28. PR-1251-L49073 Puan Teresa Kok Suh Sim [ Seputeh ] to ask the MINISTER OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INDUSTRY to state the Ministry's stance regarding the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA), which will be signed by Malaysia, which allowed investors to claim compensation from the Government to prosecute and claim from the Government in international tribunal.

    BN giving free flights to Sabahans for votes, says NGO Malaysian Insider April 9,2013 By Boo Su-Lyn KUALA LUMPUR, April 9 — Barisan Nasional (BN) is offering free return flights to Sabahans living in the peninsula to cast their votes in the Borneo state in Election 2013 in exchange for their support, an NGO said today. A leader of the NGO said that people manning the BN operations room in Kuala Lumpur, based in the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) building on Jalan Raja Laut, recruited her yesterday to register Sabahan voters interested in the offer. “They said ‘if can, vote BN lah’,” she told The Malaysian Insider today, requesting anonymity. “‘But if they want to vote for the opposition, don’t be too obvious’. Meaning, don’t wear opposition clothes,” she said, adding that her NGO worked on welfare matters with the Kadazandusun community here. She said that free return flights were offered for Sabahan voters living in Kuala Lumpur, Penang or Johor Baru to go to major cities and towns in Sabah like Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan or Tawau four days before polling day, which is expected to be on April 27, and to return to the peninsula either the day after polling day or four days after. “It’s for registered voters only, but if you have a husband or wife and small kids, you can bring them along,” she said. “The arrangement is I submit the names and IC numbers to the operations room,” she added. News portal Free Malaysia Today reported Sabah DAP chief Dr Hiew King Cheu (picture) as saying in 2010 that there are some 160,000 to 200,000 Sabahans working in the peninsula, with a large number hailing from the interior of Sabah, including Ranau and Tambunan.

Untuk langkah jangka pendek bagi kawasan pantai yang telah terhakis, Kerajaan telah membina struktur lapis lindung hakisan pantai seperti: i. pembinaan lapis lindung batu; ii. lapis lindung batu “flexslab iii. ‘groin’; iv. penambakan semula pasir yang telah terhakis; v. pembinaan “breakwaterdan vi. Iain-lain kaedah yang bersesuaian. Walau bagaimana pun, pelaksanaan kaedah tersebut agak terhad memandangkan kawasan yang terhakis setiap tahun amat banyak sedangkan peruntukan kewangan untuk projek mencegah hakisan tidak mencukupi. Sebagai tindakan jangka panjang bagi mengatasi masalah hakisan pantai, pihak Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran (JPS) telah menyediakan Pelan Pengurusan Pantai Bersepadu (Integrated Shoreline Management Plan - ISMP). Setakat ini enam (6) ISMP telah siap termasuk untuk negeri Pahang. Pelan ini akan dijadikan bahan rujukan bagi kawalan pembangunan oleh PihakBerkuasa Tempatan (PBT) semasa meluluskan pembangunan di tepi pantai.
