DAVIS MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, January 24, 1930 DEAR EDITOR: Having in my boyhood days experienced the life and trials of a pioneer upon the prairies of western Minnesota, I was much interested in reading in your last quarterly the criticism by Le Roy G. Davis of certain incidents and statements contained in Rolvaag's Giants in the Earth.^ I read this rather remarkable book with a great deal of interest — an interest much enhanced because of my own personal con­ tact with frontier life and because I recognized in the story a substantially correct picture of conditions and the social life prevailing in those far-flung stretches lying out beyond " where the West begins." Mr. Davis selects a few statements from the book (I presume the most extreme he could find) and sets out to prove that a false picture is painted by the author. My own impression and feeHng is that Rolvaag's picture is true in substance and practically so in detail. I will briefly go over the several objections made by Mr. Davis: I. Mr. Rolvaag states that "original settlers are agreed that there was neither bird nor insect life on the prairie, with the exception of mosquitoes, the first year that they came." Mr. Davis challenges this statement. If I remember rightly, mention was made in the story of the passing of ducks and geese. With that qualification, I believe the statement to be substantially correct. Before the advent of the settler the open prairie, far removed from rivers, lakes, and trees, was practically devoid of bird life.

Ellisandra, a weather spirit who hopes to become Frost Queen, takes Faith, a frazzled mother, on a journey of imagination. They first meet the Snow Maiden, a beautiful woman who can only live during winter, in a legend from Russia. Tempesta, a stormy weather spirit who also seeks the title of Frost Queen, follows with her own Native American tale from Minnesota. It’s about a young poet at odds with a warrior lifestyle and his encounter with a Great White Bear. The tales are threaded together with an Eskimo story about the Northern Lights. The characters are a wonderful mix of humans, spirits, mischievous snowflakes and sparkling northern lights. Suggested music adds a grace note to creating the perfect winter solstice program. This play promises winter enchantment for all.

The purpose of this research is to find out the First Received: deconstruction of Peter Pan’s character in Kitsis’ and Horowitz’s 21/05/2020 work as described in Barrie’s Peter Pan. Kitsis’ and Horowitz’s Once Upon a Time, Season Three is the first film that deconstructs the Final Revision: character of Peter Pan from Barrie’s Peter Pan. The qualitative 28/06/2020 method is used in analyzing the main data that are taken from both works, Barrie’s Peter Pan and Kitsis’ and Horowitz’s Once Upon a Available online: Time, Season Three. The data analysis starts by selecting the data 30/06/2020 from re-watching and re-reading the works. Then analyzing them using the theory of deconstruction, character and characterization and cinematography. The theory is used to find the binary opposition and analyzing the characteristics of Peter Pan in both works. The cinematography is also needed to support the analysis and strengthens the argument of the analysis from the character’s deconstruction. The result of the analysis shows that the characteristic of Peter Pan in Barrie’s Peter Pan is deconstructed from hero into villain.
