We didn’t know who, or how many people would respond, or whether they’d be a new customer or long-time friend. We are thrilled to learn we have so many talented customers! It was a tough decision, but here are our top three choices. Thank you to everyone who entered our contest. And the winner is . Jeff Adamoff Jeff went to American University in DC and used to shop with us prior to the 1982 merger of Calvert and Woodley! He now lives in Carlsbad, California and is the Art Director and Artist at Adamoff Designs. Jeff’s a wine lover who favors a nice, fresh Chardonnay when he’s in the mood for a white, and Pinot Noir when he drinks red. Hopefully he can discover a few new wines with his 1st place prize of a $250 CW Gift Card. When we asked him about the inspiration for his design, he told us, “When I left Callaway Golf as Creative Director I started creating collage art. This was my first attempt at a wine label collage and these are my sister’s favorite wine labels . and Marilyn is always in style.” We congratulate Jeff on winning the contest, and thank him for his beautiful contribution to our 2013 catalog! First Runner-Up Will Winton Will is a long-time Washingtonian (28 years) who now lives in Sewanee, TN. When not working on his art, he works as a Data Analyst. He’s been a CW customer for 25 years, and his family for almost 50! “I have memories of your old place in Cleveland Park where Dad would go to buy his wine.” Will’s favorite wines are Sauternes and New Zealand whites (of all varieties). As for his cover, Will said, “My inspiration for this cover was a trip to my wine cellar. Sitting in the corner were a few bottles waiting to be opened for a party. The light, composition and color caught my artist’s eye, and well, you can see how things came out yourself! I am very excited and honored to be part of CW’s catalog.” Thanks Will, we’re thrilled too. Second Runner-Up Don Sparkman Don is a retired graphic designer in Bristow, VA who now writes novels. He told us his family has been fans of Calvert Woodley for three generations . wow! He loves wine but says he has way too many different favorites to pick just one. His inspiration for the cover was the sophistication of the close-up wine cork in its simplicity on the stark white cover. We agree, as sometimes less truly is more. Thank you Don. 2013 FALL WINE SALE alvert &oodley Welcome to Our 2013 Fall Wine Sale Catalog We must begin by thanking our many loyal customers for their support and patronage of Calvert Woodley, not only this past year but for the roughly 50 years we’ve been in business.
