He was also awarded as one of the Best Trainers in the year 2002 by Rapport Bangladesh Limited. He is also Life Member of Bangladesh Economic Association and Bangladesh Statistical Association.Earlier he worked in the banking sector for more than 13 years where he served in different capacities including Assistant general manager of International depart.
Mahboob attended different Training programs including on "Professional Development Program on Quality Assurance in Higher Education" at AIT, Thailand from 18th November, 2015 and continue till 29th November, 2015.Beside this he got training at UGC,Bangladesh and also at AIT extension team at Daffodil International University on Peer review process. He is working as an international quality assessor of MTC global group. Currently he is Peer reviewer approved by QAU of UGC,Bangladesh.Quality assurance is his passion. He is now organizing different workshops and presenting papers on Quality education,OBTL,self-assessment process, peer review etc. at different conferences.He is consultant of ASIC, UK. He is country representative of MTC Golbal, India at Bangladesh.
Professor Mahboob received MTC global award in recognition of outstanding management teacher foreign origin in 2015.Earlier he received 9th Rapport award for excellence in Human Resource Development in 2009. He was awarded best paper award in the field of Banking, Finance and Economics at the 2nd annual Asian Business Research conference for the article on "Bangladeshi Money Supply and Equity Returns: A Co-Integration Analysis" (co-author). He also received best paper award in the field of Management for the paper on "Strategic operations management and it impacts on organizational efficiency and effectiveness in business organizations of Bangladesh: An Empirical analysis" (co-author) at the 4th Asian Business Research conference. Received Best Journal paper award at the 5th annual Asian Business Research conference for the article on "Asymmetric Responses of Commercial Banks to Monetary Policy: The Case of Bangladesh" (co-author), organized by World Business Institute, Australia held at BIAM, Dhaka on December 23-24, 2011. Received Best Track presentation for the article on "A Cross Border Trade in Healthcare services: Bangladesh to India (co-author) organized by Academy of Business and Retail Management, Pune, India, February 1-2, 2012. Best paper in the field of finance in conference on "Do Equity Indices in Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and the US Follow a Random Walk?" (co-author), 7th South Asian Business Conference was held at the conference room of BIAM Foundation on December 21-22, 2012 organized by World Business Institute, Australia. Professor Dr. Ali presented a research paper on “Quality in Teaching-Learning Strategies at Higher Educational Institutions: The case study of Khulna University and Uttara University of Bangladesh” which was appreciated by all and got the best paper award at participated at the World Business and Social Sciences Research Conference Program in Thailand conference held during 9 and 10 Decmebr,2016.The paper was jointly written by Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Director, IQAC, DIU; Anita Medhekar, Senior Lecturer, Central Queensland University and VichayananRattanawiboonsom, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Business, Economics and Communications, Naresuan University, Thailand.
