1 INTRODUCTION Le festival du film de Cabourg est un rendez-vous cinématographique national qui propose cinq jours de projections et événements officiels pour le public et les professionnels. La programmation met à l’honneur des courts et longs métrages de création française et internationale de tous horizons autour de la thématique du romantisme et des grands sentiments. Les films de la sélection laissent voir un monde en constante évolution, habité de valeurs universelles et humanistes. L’événement reçoit de nombreux créateurs et interprètes pour promouvoir leurs films, et accueille depuis des années les plus grands noms du cinéma : François Ozon, André Téchiné, Claude Lelouch, Juliette Binoche, Catherine Deneuve, Marion Cotillard, Guillaume Canet, Michel Hazanavicius, Sophie Marceau, Zhang Ziyi… Le Festival s’attache également à mettre en lumière les jeunes talents en devenir, il a notamment remis son premier prix à François Civil, Emmanuelle Bercot, Rod Paradot, Pierre Niney, Alice Isaaz et favorise les rencontres entre professionnels pour développer des projets existants ou en création. 2 Sophie Marceau et Zhang Ziyi, 2014 PROGRAMMATION 2021 : 3 GRAND JURY : Régis WARNIER, Alice BELAÏDI, Jeanne ADDED, Izia HIGELIN, Zoé WITTOCK, Alice TAGLIONI, David GAUQUIÉ, Grégoire LEPRINCE- RINGUET (parrain du jury jeunesse) + 2 actrices TBC JURY COURTS MÉTRAGES : Jérémy CLAPIN, DADJU, Victor BELMONDO, Alliocha SCHNEIDER, + 4 actrices TBC Seront présents sur le Tapis rouge pour présenter leurs films : Emmannuel MOURET, Benjamin LAVERNHE, Maïmouna DOUCOURÉ, Jenna THIAM, Félix LEFEBVRE, Fathia YOUSSOUF, Guang HUO. Nous attendons la programmation définitive pour vous Communiquer une quarantaine de noms supplémentaires… 4 CÉRÉMONIES ET ÉVÉNEMENTS Le jeudi 10 juin, la Cérémonie d’Ouverture est suivie d’un dîner de gala au profit d’une association caritative. Le vendredi 11 juin, la Cérémonie des Premiers Rendez-vous sacre la toute première apparition à l’écran d’une jeune actrice et d’un jeune acteur, au Casino, à l’issue d’un tapis rouge. Le samedi 12 juin, la Cérémonie des Swann d’Or récompense les courts et longs métrages de la compétition (3 Jurys sont constitués pour les départager, et le public vote pour la section Panorama), ainsi que le film, l’actrice, l’acteur, le réalisateur, le compositeur et les révélations (des talents plus confirmés que les Premiers Rendez-vous) de l’année écoulée depuis le dernier Festival (au Casino à l’issue d’un tapis rouge). Environ 20 récompenses sont ainsi attribuées chaque année et, en un seul week-end, jusqu’à 100 talents du cinéma répondent présent. C’est ainsi que le Festival du Film de Cabourg est devenu un incontournable vivier prescripteur de talents et des succès à venir, six mois avant que les Cérémonies des César et des Oscars ne les consacrent à leur tour. 5 Marion Cotillard et les membres de son Jury, 2017 SÉANCES DE CINEMA & CONFÉRENCES Les séances de cinéma se dérouleront du mercredi 9 juin, jusqu’au dimanche 13 juin dans nos salles partenaires. Une nouvelle catégorie inédite apparait en 2021 : Le Monde Émois. In 2012, the scandal of the BAC [Anti-Crime Brigade] Nord affair broke out all over the press. It was difficult to escape it, especially for me being from Marseille. I Quickly became interested in it, especially since I know the northern neighbourhoods well having grown up there. There was such a media show that I felt the need to know what had happened. How far had these cops taken the law into their own hands? But for that, it was necessary to have access to the police and to the files. That was obviously impossible. When we decided to work together, me and Hugo [Sélignac], my producer, I always had this affair in mind. It was then that he said to me, “Wait, I know someone in Marseille who could introduce us to the real cops involved.” And that’s what happened.

    12 Big Names from World Cinema in Conversation with Marrakech Audiences

    The 18th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival runs from 29 November to 7 December 2019 12 BIG NAMES FROM WORLD CINEMA IN CONVERSATION WITH MARRAKECH AUDIENCES Rabat, 14 November 2019. The “Conversation with” section is one of the highlights of the Marrakech International Film Festival and returns during the 18th edition for some fascinating exchanges with some of those who create the magic of cinema around the world. As its name suggests, “Conversation with” is a forum for free-flowing discussion with some of the great names in international filmmaking. These sessions are free and open to all: industry professionals, journalists, and the general public. During last year’s festival, the launch of this new section was a huge hit with Moroccan and internatiojnal film lovers. More than 3,000 people attended seven conversations with some legendary names of the big screen, offering some intense moments with artists, who generously shared their vision and their cinematic techniques and delivered some dazzling demonstrations and fascinating anecdotes to an audience of cinephiles. After the success of the previous edition, the Festival is recreating the experience and expanding from seven to 11 conversations at this year’s event. Once again, some of the biggest names in international filmmaking have confirmed their participation at this major FIFM event. They include US director, actor, producer, and all-around legend Robert Redford, along with Academy Award-winning French actor Marion Cotillard. Multi-award-winning Palestinian director Elia Suleiman will also be in attendance, along with independent British producer Jeremy Thomas (The Last Emperor, Only Lovers Left Alive) and celebrated US actor Harvey Keitel, star of some of the biggest hits in cinema history including Thelma and Louise, The Piano, and Pulp Fiction.

    The Museum of Modern Art For Immediate Release January 1994 GAUNONT PRESENTS: A CENTURY OF FRENCH CINEMA January 28 - April 14, 1994 A retrospective tracing the history of French cinema through films produced by Gaumont, the world's oldest movie studio, opens at The Museum of Modern Art on January 28, 1994. GAUMONT PRESENTS: A CENTURY OF FRENCH CINEMA, on view through April 14, includes fifty programs of films made from 1900 to the present. All of the films are recently restored, and new 35mm prints were struck especially for the exhibition. Virtually all of the sound films feature new English subtitles as well. A selection of Gaumont newsreels [actualites) accompany the films made prior to 1942. The exhibition opens with the American premiere of Bertrand Blier's Un deux trois soleil (1993), starring Marcello Mastroianni and Anouk Grinberg, on Friday, January 28, at 7:30 p.m. A major discovery of the series is the work of Alice Guy-Blache, the film industry's first woman producer and director. She began making films as early as 1896, and in 1906 experimented with sound, using popular singers of the day. Her film Sur la Barricade (1906), about the Paris Commune, is featured in the series. Other important directors whose works are included in the exhibition are among Gaumont's earliest filmmakers: the pioneer animator and master of trick photography Emile Cohl; the surreal comic director Jean Durand; the inventive Louis Feuillade, who went on to make such classic serials as Les Vampires (1915) and Judex (1917), both of which are shown in their entirety; and Leonce Perret, an outstanding early realistic narrative filmmaker.
