Kapanadze Khachatryan Alice Savadyan PROJECT NAME AND SITE DESCRIPTION Description of the Project The main purpose of the sub-project is the improvement of pastures watering network in Lichk community providing sufficient water supply for 1896 bovine cattle and 1122 small cattle directly in the pasture. The following construction activities will be implemented under the proposed sub-project: Installation of 2 water ways, which will be connected to drinking water pipeline, 23,0 m length (PE 57x2,8 ) waterway 50,0 m length (PE 57x2,8) waterway, Construction of two 24,0 and 18,0 long metallic troughs- semi-pipes installed on concrete - cobblestone platform. 2 water collection chambers installation 51,0.2x20.0 m open cattle-pen construction, from which 15.0x6.0m will have a roof Construction of 4.6x6.4, h=3.0 m shelter for herdsman The design for pastures watering network has been developed by the MANANA -1 design company under the contract concluded with Agricultural Project Implementation Unit. byProject implementation area, Republic of Armenia, community Gegharkunik marz, Lichk community Project site location Project implementation area is located at a distance of 140 km from Yerevan city, about 60 km from Sevan and in 3-4 km from Lichk community. Description of geographic, physical, The sub-project site is located in Gegharkunik marz, in Lichk biological, geological, hydrographic and community near Gavar town area. Lichk is located on socio-economic context north- eastern part of Sevan lake, located on Gegahama mountain chain, 2234-2430 m above sea level. Climatic conditions of the Lichk possesses is mild mountainous. The winter is cold, snowy. The summer is warm, few clouds, comparatively humid weather. The Sevan Lake mitigates the winter frost and summer heat. Because of the lake, the average temperature in January is almost the same as in Yerevan. Highest temperature +340C and lowest -320C,: Average precipitation is 501 mm, snow cover 70kg/ sm2. Locations and distance for material Water for construction works will be provided by water sourcing, especially aggregates, water, cistern track. Aggregates and machinery will be obtained stones from the licensed providers within the project area. Contractor may choose to extract equipment himself, in which case contractor must obtain an extraction license prior to commencement of extraction. Metallic and PE pipes as well as all fittings will be purchased from an official supplier.
