We also want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your loyalty to Metal Mafia since 2004. We are proud of the company you’ve helped us build over the last 13 years. Metal Mafia would not be what it is today without your unwavering support. As we approach the end of 2017, we want to let you know about some important changes coming our way in 2018.
As our industry and government regulations evolve, we all have experienced changes, some positive and some negative. As you likely know, the cost of business in every community is on the rise in every aspect; labor with changes in state mandated minimum wage, increasing shipping costs, higher rents, and more. In order for us to adapt to these changes, Metal Mafia will be evolving as well so we can give you the same excellent service, reliability and quality prod- ucts. The following changes will also allow us to expand our product lines and give you more of what you want and need to ensure your business is success- ful for many years to come.
On December 23rd, just a few short weeks away, we will be moving from the Big Apple to the Garden State. In our years in New York City, we have watched inventory take over our entire space. Seeing this has been both reward- ing and overwhelming—overwhelming when we see our employees have diffi- culty walking between aisles while orders are being picked, rewarding to see the many great products we included over the years as our industry has grown. Our new location will be more than double the square footage which will leave us with even more room for exciting new products—that you have asked from us!
Do not be alarmed. Our transit times will remain the same. Any customer that is 1 day away, will continue to be one day away in transit via UPS. And we will still be working with UPS to get a discount on 2-day shipments.
In addition, after close examination of our pricing structure for all products in our line, we determined a price overhaul was necessary. Most of our products will not see any price changes, however there are some changes taking effect January 1, 2018 that have become unavoidable.
A few examples of these changes are:
-Steel captive bead rings will increase from $0.21 to $0.25/piece. -Externally threaded gem labrets will increase from $0.50 to $0.60/piece
Because we know you are affected by the same changes we are, we have tried to balance increases where we can, and to that end, some prices will also go down—for example our titanium prong set replacement gem heads starting at $2.56 will be reduced to $2.25/piece.
