MCA 700 Discography by David Edwards, Mike Callahan & Patrice Eyries © 2018 by Mike Callahan MCA-700 Midline/Reissue Series: By the time the reissue series reached MCA-700, most of the ABC reissues had been accomplished in the MCA 500-600s. MCA decided that when full price albums were converted to midline prices, the albums needed a new number altogether rather than just making the administrative change. In this series, we get reissues of many MCA albums that were only one to three years old, as well as a lot of Decca reissues. Rather than pay the price for new covers and labels, most of these were just stamped with the new numbers in gold ink on the front covers, with the same jackets and labels with the old catalog numbers. Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.

Au-delà, et c’est cela que je recherche, d’autres vinylmaniaques se livrent un peu sur leur pratique de collectionneur et me disent ce qu’ils pensent de mon site. Voici donc un quelques courriels qui reflètent les échanges que j’ai avec certains. J’ai soigneusement enlevé les noms des expéditeurs si certains se reconnaissent et qu’ils veulent que je mentionne leur identité qu’ils me contactent, de même s’ils souhaitent que je supprime leur message. Je suis comme tu dis "vinylmaniac" et par déf solitaire. Je préfèrerais être solidaire et pouvoir échanger (pas des disques...) sur ce sujet sans me dire que celui avec qui je dialogue ne pense qu'à me vendre ses dernières acquisitions... J'envisage de créer un site similaire (mais dif- férent) au tien alors s'il voit le jour, je t'en indiquerai le lien (dans quelques semaines peut être...). Donc bravo pour ton site et continue à le mettre à jour.
