1 My Favorite Dress

My name is Susan Gaer. I was born in New York State and now live in Southern California. My favorite dress is a purple dress that I wore on my wedding day. I have worn it for many special occasions as well, but it was purchased to wear on my wedding day. This is why I call it my favorite dress. I bought the dress in Macy’s one week before my wedding. I can remember shopping with my friend Grace Tanaka to pick it out. There were so many dresses, but this was the only one that struck me. I loved the color.

It is an ankle-length sleeveless dress made of purple silk. It has white sequins all over it. It has a low diagonal waistline that runs the width of the dress.

When I wear this dress, I always think of my wedding day eleven years ago. Although I can no longer wear it, I still keep it in my closet. Every time I am looking for something to wear, I pass by the dress that reminds me of this most wonderful day.

My name is Naeem Momand.I was born in Afghanistan and now live in Orange County,California. This is a picture of my favorite vest.This is homemade by my cousin Ariana Momand.She used black and red yarn,it has circle sequins in the middle of black yarn. And she gave it to me as a gift.Vest is usefull cloth for Afghans daily lif.It has numerals deep and hidden pockets,which are needed to hide cash and other items.Becouse most tride is done by cash in Afghanistan. I wear it on every Afghani party.

My favorite piece is a dress. This is not a dress for a formal event but it’s just a summer loosely dress. It is a knee-length, sleeveless, black dress with a small pink flower pattern. I think it is made of cotton mixed with some polyester. This mixture makes it is not only breathable, but also very easy to care for. It doesn’t need dry cleaning, or ironing and it dries very fast when you hang it after washing.I got this dress from Ross in Las Vegas. Although I can not remember how much I paid for it, I don’t think I had to pay over $20 for it, especially after I had lost almost one hundred dollars gambling!I love this dress because it is very comfortable, it makes me feel relaxed in hot summer days and it always remind me, if I had not lost in gambling, I could by five dresses. So why did I gambling?

My Favorite Shoes

My name is Octavio Zamudio, Iwas born in Mexico city. my favorite piece of clothing is a pair of black leather shoes. I love these shoes since the firste day i got them. My mom sent me these shoes from Mexico about 2 years ago. They are made of black leather. These shoes are made in Leon Guanajuato Mexico. I remember when i fist got they had the leather smell. I like to wear them with a pair of blue jeans. My cousin call them "The Mickey Mouse shoes", because they look like his, but I still love them. They are very comfortable and every time i wear them I remember my mom.

3 My favorite hat

My name is Rene Bollanos. I was born in El Salvador and now live in southern California U.S.A. This is a picture of my beautiful hat. I always wear it When, I go back to my country I wear it because, I fell well, especially if I go to the beach o to the stadium to watch the soccer team. This is why I think of this as my favorite hat. I brought this hat in “El Salvadorian” airport on one of my trips. It is white and blue with the name “El Salvador” at of bring. Made of cotton and has small pieces of plastic inside. I keep it in my closet. Every time I am looking for something to wear, I pass by that hat it reminds me of that most wonderful places when I wear my hat.

My Favorite Jacket By Maria Chico

My name is Maria,Chico.I was born in Durango Mexico.This is a picture of my favorite jacket. Five years ago my niece gave it to me in my birthay party.I wore it every winter time especially, when I was travelling to North Carolina or my city of Durango Mexico.Because in those places the weather is very cool, and my jacket is very warm.That's why I love it.

It is a light and warm jacket made of beise wool. It also has wool in the neck of it.When I wear this jacket I remember my lovely niece. This jacket is very important to me because I have had it almost six years .When I wear it, People like it , and ask me where I bought it. I will always keep it to remember my birthay party and niece.

My Favorite Earrings by Laura Pantoja

My name is Laura Pantoja. I was born in Mexico and now live in Southern California. This a picture of my favorite earrings. They are an earrings in the form of a Quetzal. It is a rare bird found in Central America. I wear them for many occasions. I bought my earrings in Guatemala. I chose them because Quetzal was important for the Mayan culture and it is found in its art and stories. The Quetzal is also the national bird of Guatemala. It symbolizes freedom because it will kill itself it kept in captivity. The word "Quetzal" means "God the Air". One legend of the Mayas says the Quetzal used to sing before the Spanish conquered Latin America but has been silent ever since. That is why I think of these as my favorite. I bought them in a small store in Solola a small city of Guatemala.I can remembered going with my friends.

The earrings are made of silver. They have a little copper on the breast of the bird. They are pierced earrings. When I wear them always remember my travel to a wonderful country with plenty of history and color. It gives me a feeling of freedom.

My Favorite Coat By Phan Nguyen

My name is Phan Nguyen. I was born in Saigon, Southern Vietnam, and now live in Santa Ana, Southern California. This is a picture of my favorite 'coat'. I have worn it to study and work since the day I entered the University School of Medicine. I went along with it in war and peace time. That is why I think of this as my favorite 'coat.' There were not a few coats I liked but this was the only specific one that struck me. I loved the color and simplicity.

My 'coat' is long-sleeved made of white cotton. It has one breast pocket on the left and two other larger pockets on both sides nearly above the front hemline at the knee. My 'white coat' fit me loosely so that I felt very comfortable in moving along the hospital's wards to visit my patients, except for the time I had to take it off in the operating room. Today, although I have no opportunity to wear it, I still keep it carefully with my stethoscope in my closet and hope one day, I will use it again. My 'white coat' always helps me live peacefully and happily in such a life full of pains and sufferings. I love my 'white coat' very much because it greatly means my 'career.'

my name is Aaron Berrelleza. I was born in Mazatlan, Mexico. Now I live Santa Ana, Ca. My favorite piece clothing is a baseball shirt. I wore it on my birthday and I wore it when my team was a champion, this shirt is a special edition. My sister bough it in Venados stadium inMazatlan,Mexico.The day that were champions for the third time. it's my favorite color and it has my last name on my back. It is my lucky number 13. when I wear this shirt, I always think of my town and country. When I looking at it,remiads me of how wonderful day a spent in the stadium. ALWAYS AL 100%

My Favorite Dress

My name is Nhan Vu. I'm from Vietnam.My favorite piece of clothing is a dress. It is brown and dark purple in color. The material is polyester. The style of my dress is an ankle length sleeveless dress. It has white sparkles allover it.It has a zipper on the back and it is floor length. It says 'do not dry clean or ash' spot clean only on the label I bought it at Macy;s a month before my daughter's wedding. I choose it because i needed to wear a beautiful dress at my daughter's wedding.That's why i wore it on a special day. When i open my closet door 'i saw that dress.It reminds me of my daughter's wedding. That was a beautiful day.

6 My Favorite shoes

My name is Rafaela Iturriaga. I was born in Mexico, now I have live in Tustin California since 1982. I don't have a picture, but I'll describe my favorite shoes. I have worm these kinds of shoes for many years. I like them,because my feet don't get wet and I can use them all day long with out getting tired. This pair of shoes doesn't have high heels. They are very comfortable. We can find them in different styles in any shoes department.

MY FAVORITE JACKET BY GILBERTO RAMOS

My name is Gilberto Ramos. I was born in Guanajuato, Mexico. now I live in Santa Ana California. This is the picture of my favorite jacket. I wore it last winter. I can't wear it in other season of the year, because is too heavy but I like very much and it's my favorite.This jacket is special for me because it was present from my wife. It is a long sleeve made of brown leather. Inside it has brown wool and it is all brown. In the end of the sleeves there are small belts. When I wear my jacket I feel confortable and warm. When the winter concludes I put my jacket back in the closet and cover it with a plastic bag. I would like to wear it more often, but it is too hot, so I have to wait until next winter.

7 My Favorite Suit

My name is Phuoc Bui. I'm from Vietnam and now I'm living in Santa Ana. My favorite piece of clothing is my black suit. I bought my suit in South Coast Plaza 3 years ago, 2 weeks before my daughter's wedding.This suit is made of English wool and cotton. It is a three piece suit; Jacket, small collar vest, and pants. It is wrinkle -free and matches with the shirt and the tie I wear in white, blue or brown color. Although my suit is not still fashionable, I still wear it on the special events like wedding, engagement or for New Year's ceremony.

Whenever I see my suit, it reminds me of the most important event of my family- my daughter's wedding ceremony 3 years ago. Perhaps this suit is not loose fit to me anymore, I don't want to buy a new one to save money and this suit can be used for a few more years.

MY FAVORITE DRESS

My name is Sonia Alvarado. I was born in Guatemala City and now I live in Southern California. I'm writing about my favorite dress. It's not an elegant dress, but is very special for me. I wore it at my daughter's graduation. It's a casual dress, below the knee, with short sleeves.The color is black with brown flowers, and a sport collar. I bought the dress in Sears two weeks before my daughter's graduation.This dress is special because my daughter worked very hard in her senior year when she was in High school. She took 3 A.P. classes; English, History and Spanish. Some times she was stressed because she had a lot of home work, and many activities such as choir class. Finally, she graduated with an Exceptional Merit diploma May 30, 2009. Now she is in San Francisco State University. I'm very proud of my daughter.

8 My Favorite Dress

My name is Graciela Sanchez. I was born in Mexico and now live in Southern California. This is a picture of my favorite dress. I wore it on my daughter's graduation, and wore it at a church celebration. I bought the dress in Sears a few days before the graduation. I remember that I went with my daughter, to pick it out. There were so many dresses of different styles and colors but this one fit me. It is below the knee, and blue in color. It doesn't have sleeves, but it has ribbons to tie on the shoulders to make a bow. It doesn't have a waist. It has three layers. It's has an even hemline and the material is polyester. I was born in Jalisco, Mexico and now I live in Santa Ana Ca. I will tell about my favorite clothing. It is a black coat. I bought this when I came to Sacramento Ca. in January 2004. I took 1 week of vacation and I visited my best friend. Her name is Leticia. When I came to Sacramento, she gave me a tour for all it and I went to shopping at Wal-Mart and I saw this coat. It is beautiful and warm. I like the price too, because it was very cheap it was only fifteen dollars and I brought it immediately. When I came to Santa Ana my husband said to me “where did you buy your coat “ and I said in “Sacramento” he thought it was very expensive ; but, when I said the price he didn’t believe me because it looked expensive. When it is fall and I have a party, very often I wear it.

9 MY FAVORITE SHOES BY MARTHA SANDOVAL

My name is Martha Sandoval. I was born in Guadalajara, México and now live in Southern California. This is a picture of my favorites shoes. I have a big defect my closet, I have so many shoes. I'm a compulsive buyer. Every time I go shopping I have to go to the shoe section and I buy one pair of shoes. Some of these shoes I bought in Macy's. Now I am trying, really trying to work on my compulsive behavior. When I need to go to the mall, I don't walk any where except where I need to go. One or my favorite shoes are black with white stones in the middle, medium heels with a silver stripe on the back. I remember these shoes, because I went to so many parties. They are very comfortable. They let me walk and dance without changing in the middle of the party. That is the reason those are my favorite shoes.

MY FAVORITE BOOTS by Marcela Villalvazo

My name is Marcela Villalvazo. I'm from Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico. I have been living in California for about three years. I like shoes, but my brown boots are my favorite.

These boots are brown. The material is leather and the style is called "Wild Reva - 20". These beautiful boots have dual side belt rings wrapped around their slouchy body design. They are knee high and the heels are 3" tall. One year ago, I went shopping at the mall. Suddenly, I saw the fashion boots in "Shiekh Shoes". As soon as I tried them on, I knew that the boots were perfect for me. I decided to buy them because the boots were the right height. In the course of the year, I have been wearing my boots almost all the time. I have lots of good memories using them. One is Art's birthday party where I wore my boots with a skirt and a Chivas' t-shirt. I really liked my outfit because the boots tuned up my style.

My name is Uriel Gonzalez. I was born in Mexico.This a picture of my favorite T-shirt. I Received it on my birthday 3 years ago.I wear 2 times a week. Sometimes I wear it because it fits me loosely. I like the color because i can combine it with diferent jeans. I can remember when my best friend gave this gift on my birthday.

It is white and made of cotton,it is silkscreened yellow and black, with black letters that say "TimberLand Est. 1973". I always remember my best friend when I wear this T-shirt.

My name is Yolanda Noyola. I was born in Guerrero, Mexico, and now I live in Santa Ana,California. This is a picture of my favorite dress. I wore it on my niece's fifteenth birthday party,and I wear it for other special occasions. That is why I think of this as my favorite dress. My boyfriend bought me the dress at Macy's two days before my niece's party. I can remember going there with my boyfriend. I loved the color. It is irisdescent green and made of polyester. It is a knee-length halter dress. The front is low cut with rhinestones,and the hemline curls. The top is gathered. When I wear this dress I feel chic. I love this dress because every time I wear it, I receive compliments.

11 MY OLD FRIEND

My name is Jose Mendoza. I was born in Oaxaca, Mexico. I came here a long time ago. Since I came from Mexico, I have been living in the Orange County. I like this part of southern California. I want to say I’m sorry because I can’t send a picture of my favorite clothes, but I’ll try to describe them. My favorite clothes are the first pants I wore here but I didn’t buy them. My friend gave them to me and I never wore them for special occasions, I wore them only for every day use. I had recently arrived from Mexico and I didn’t bring any kind of clothes to wear here. I didn’t have money to buy anything and I didn’t have a job either. When you are illegal, it is difficult to find a job. These pants are made of blue cotton, have four pockets, have an adjustable waist, blue flannel inside and are warm. They were designed especially for use in the winter because they are very warm. Now my jeans are too old and have like two or three holes in the legs, but I keep them in my closet because for me, they have a sentimental value. Sometimes on occasions when I look at my jeans, I remember my difficult moments when I came here along time ago.

12 My Favorite Tennis Shoes By Resy Bagsik

My name is Resy Bagsik. I was born in Philippines and now live in Southern California. This is a picture of my tennis shoes. I wore them on my birthday, and I wore them all the time during the summer. That is why I think of these as my favorite tennis shoes. I bought the shoes in Nordstrom one week before my birthday. There were so many tennis shoes but this was the only one that struck me. I liked the style.

They are a low cut shoes made of beige leather. It has a gray stripe around it. It has a buckle at the back, white shoelaces and rubber soles. When I wear this shoe, I always think of my birthday two years ago. Although I have a few pair of rubber shoes, this one is my favorite tennis shoe.

My Favorite Jacket

My name is Israel Carrera. I was born in Guanajuto, Mexico. Now I live in Orange County . This is a picture of my favorite jacket . I wore it on Christmas Night and that’s why I think of it as my most desired coat. I bought it at Macy’s on December 13th, 2004. I still remember clearly when I was about to make my choice on which jacket to select. Their were so many, but this one was somehow special. I just knew it would be the right one for a special occasion like Christmas. My coat is brown and it is a zipper jacket. I Don't wore it often because I want to keep it a long time. This blouse is my favorite because my younger son bought it for me, when he got his first pay check. My name is J. GuadalupeBecerra, I was born in Jalisco, Mexico And now I live in Tustin CA. This is my favorite shirt, I have had it since 1994. It is the same type of shirt of my favorite soccer team. They wore it in 1993, the time's name is "AMERICA". My team plays in the Mexican first division soccer leage. I wear it every time I take my kids to the park and when I'm watching t.v. my team plays against "Chivas" our competing team.

It is mosly yellow, with blue, red, and black colors. The material is polyester. I like this shirt because my best friend brouht it for me frome Mexico City.
