F" • The cover artwork was the winning entry in a 1990 schools contest whose theme was "GET OUT AND VOTE." The competition was sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles. The logo emphasizes the fundamental right of people in a free and democratic nation to choose the men and women who will represent our interest at all levels of government. By registering and voting, we exercise our "power of choice." March Fong Eo Secretary of State Preface This Statement of Vote is prepared and issued pursuant to Elections Code section 17121. I thank those many individuals who assisted in compiling, editing, proofing, and printing this document with its detailed information. In particular, I express my special appreciation to my elections staff, as well as to Julia Muncy, student assistant, whose expertise and careful attention to detail resulted in this document. I also single out for special thanks our entire data entry staff. They toiled throughout election night to receive the semi-official canvass results from all 58 counties. I commend their long hours, dedicated service, professionalism, and unselfish commitment to an unusually demanding job.
