Joe Bill Adcock – C – 1944-47: Second Team All-SEC, 1946; SEC Tournament record for points, 31 against Tulane, 1946; SEC Leading Scorer 1946 (18.6); averaged 11.6 in 1947

Charles Bozeman – C – 1938-41: Leading scorer in 1941, 13.4 points per game

Frank Brian – F – 1942-43; 1945-47: First Team All-SEC, 1943; Second Team 1947; Leading scorer in 1947 – 9.8 ppg in 1943; 18.0 average in 1947 … La. Sports Hall of Famer, La. Assoc. of Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame

John Chaney – F – 1940-43: Second Team All-SEC, 1943.

Alvin Dark – G – 1942-43: Played just two years of basketball before concentrating on baseball … Team was 19-5 during his two years in the SEC.

Richard “Whitey” Hoskins, Jr. – G – 1942-44: Second Team All-SEC, 1944.

Clyde Lindsey –F – 1944-46: Three sport athlete; 15.7 ppg as a senior in 1945.

Bobby Lowther – F – 1942-43; 1945-48: First Team All-SEC, 1946; First Team All- American, Basketball, Track, 1946; Louisiana Sports Hall of Famer; averaged 14.7 point in 1946; averaged 12.7 in 1947.

Bill Michaelis – G – 1943-44; 1946-49: Starting point guard on teams in late 1940s.

Dale Morey – F – 1939-42: Only LSU player to go directly from player to coach in 1943 after Harry Rabenhorst entered the service.

Dick Thompson – G – 1947-51; Averaged 10.2 points per game in 1949

Bill Walters – G – 1942-43; 1945-47: Guards on team that joined with Joe Adcock and Frank Brian to go 18-4 in 1942-43 before WWII and 33-12 in two seasons after the war.

Bubba Webb – G – 1942-43; 1945-47: Guards on team that joined with Joe Adcock and Frank Brian to go 18-4 in 1942-43 before WWII and 33-12 in two seasons after the war.

The 1950s (1950-1959)

Don Belcher – F – 1951-55 – Averaged 12.4 points in 1953

Ned Clark – F – 1951-55 – Member 1953 NCAA Final Four Team; Fifth leading rebounder in school history with 988. 1953 – 9.4 ppg, 1954 – 7.4 ppg; 1955 – 9.8 ppg

Joe Combs – 1956-59 – Averaged 10.7 points, 7.4 rebounds a game in 1959

Jim Crisco – F – 1956-59 – Averaged 11.6 points per game in 1958; Team leading scorer (12.2) in 1959; Team leading rebounder in 1958 (9.0) and 1959 (7.6).

Joe Dean – G – 1949-52 – All-SEC First Team 1952; All-SEC Second Team 1951; Member of the LSU Athletic Hall of Fame, NABC Silver Anniversary Team; LABC Hall of Fame; Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame; Team leading scorer in 1950 (10.8), 1951 (15.1), second behind Petit in 1952 (18.3 ppg); 32nd at LSU in career scoring (1,072 points).

Norman Magee – G – 1951-55 – Averaged 13.2 ppg in 1953; 10.0 in 1954 part of NCAA Final Four team; 11.7 in 1955.

Benny McArdle – G – 1951-54 – All-SEC Second Team, 1953; All-SEC Third Team, 1954.

Bob Meador – F – 1949-51 – All-SEC Third Team, 1950; First player to start ever game over four years; first player over 1,000 career points … Presently 30 on career scoring list (1,099) … Averaged 11.4 in 1950, 12.4 in 1951

Dom Merle – F – 1955-58 – 13.6 scoring average, 1956; 12.7 average, 1957; Team leading scorer in 1958 (12.3 ppg), team leader in FGs 1958.

Wayne Munson – F – 1957-59 – Averaged best of 10.2 points and 10.3 in 1958; Averaged 9.2 points, 6.4 rebounds in 1959

Lynn Moon – C – 1956-59 – Best season of 10.0 points per game in 1959 and 6.4 rebounds.

Gene Murphy – F – 1947-51 – Averaged 10.6 points in 1950 and 9.8 in 1951.

Bob Pettit – F – 1951-54 – All-SEC First Team, 1952, 1953, 1954; All-American Second Team, 1952; All American First Team 1953, 1954 … Fifth all-time in LSU point (1,916), third scoring average (27.4), 1st rebound average (14.8), fourth total rebounds (1,039) … All-time best single season rebound average at LSU (17.3, 1954) … 31.4 ppg average in 1954, 25.5 in 1952, 24.7 in 1953 … 60 points vs. La. Troy Rushing – F – 1954-57 – 12.3 scoring average, 1956; 15.0 ppg in 1957; Averaged 10.3 rebounds his final season (1957) … 26th all-time in total rebounds at LSU (560), 7.9 average for 71 games.
