The existing surface under the wall structure shall be excavated to a depth of 150mm prior to construction. Unless noted otherwise, the spoil shall be stored onsite, and spread evenly over the finished wall construction. 100mm depth CL3 FCR 2. Fill to be used in construction of the wall shall be approved by the superintendents representative prior to importing to 3.00 on top of wall as site, and shall have the following properties: shown. Compact to 98%SMDD Generally batter at 1:4. - A consistent mix of sand, gravel and clay Construct earthen embankment as Some areas battered at - >30% clay content per notes this page. Finish with 1:10. See plans - Mix is to be non dispersive minimum 50mm depth sandy loam Batter at 1 in 4 - Free of any organic material or contaminants topsoil and grass seed

3. Unless noted otherwise, the wall construction shall be undertaken as follows: - Fill material shall be within -1% to +3% of Optimum Moisture Content during compaction Varies - Fill shall be placed and compacted in 200mm layers to 98% Standard Maximum Dry Density - Unless approved otherwise by the Superintendents representative, a vibrating pad foot roller shall be used to undertake compaction and bonding between fill layers - In situ testing of the walls compaction and moisture content shall be undertaken as outlined for Type C material in Vicroads earthworks Specification 204: section 204.14 (c), and table 204.142. Typical Section 4. The Contractor is responsible for ensuring that all imported fill material, including topsoil, satisfies the description for clean fill material in EPA bulletin publication No. 448 (Sep 95) and subsequent revisions. The Contractor shall provide verification including test certificates to the Superintendent's Representative.
