Innovation and Networks Executive Port of Rouen has been adapting its maritime access to large size vessels. Agency (INEA) Dredging works on the downstream portion of the navigation channel have http://ec.europa.eu/inea been completed and other works will soon be completed. The Action aims to improve the port's shipping infrastructure by removing technical bottlenecks currently hindering its maritime access and strengthening its maritime safety facilities.

The port is a Core Port on - section of the Atlantic Corridor. The Action includes works for dredging the Courval-Rouen section and enlarging the Hautot-sur- turning basin. The Action will improve Port of Rouen competitiveness and increase safety and security of maritime operations. The Action also supports the competitiveness of inland waterways by facilitating transhipment to and from inland barges instead of heavy good vehicles for the transport from and to the hinterland, with shorter distances, up to Paris and in the future to the entire Seine-Scheldt network.
