My research experience to date involves projects with an applied focus, specifically related to eyewitness memory and investigative interviewing. At present, I am a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Royal Holloway, University of London. I am working under the direction of Professor Memon on a Leverhulme funded project. The research investigates metacognition and memory performance in older adults, specifically, exploring methods to improve the accuracy of elderly eyewitnesses. As well as being a passionate researcher, I also have a high interest in teaching. I was a member of the academic supply pool at the University of Abertay Dundee from 2007 until 2011. During this time, I have engaged in both small and large group teaching. Currently, my main responsibilities are research orientated, however, I still engage in teaching activities as a Visiting Lecturer and Tutor at Royal Holloway, University of London. My future professional goals include the development of my career in academia. I am keen to not only engage with projects that encompass my research interests, but also those within new or related areas that afford me challenges in respect of my research and academic experience. 1 Education Sept 2007 - Dec 2010 PhD University of Abertay Dundee (UK) Dissertation “The construction of facial composites by mild learning disabled witnesses” Thesis supervisors: Prof. Derek Carson, Dr. Fiona Gabbert, Prof. William Lindsay and Prof. Peter Hancock Responsible for designing and conducting high-quality research, involving participant recruitment, data collection and analysis, and effective dissemination of research findings Feb 2007 - Jul 2007 Research Internship University of Aberdeen (UK) Travelled abroad to complete an internship in a UK-renowned psychology and law research laboratory headed by Professor Amina Memon Worked in a team organising and managing the successful daily running of experiments Sept 2006 - Aug 2007 MSc ‘Psychology and Law’ University of Maastricht (NL) Dissertation “The influence of emotions and type of detail on memory conformity” Thesis supervisors: Professor Amina Memon and Dr Ingrid Candel Participated in electives offered by the law and psychology faculty Sept 2003 - Aug 2006 BSc Applied Cognitive Psychology University of Maastricht (NL) Research project “The influence of automatic attitudes on judging others”; research project supervisor: Dr Saskia van Bergen Dissertation “The detection of deception in psychopaths.
