It returns via the main road with the option of a short diversion to Hellifield. A: Street Park on the westside of the A65 around the village greens and then head for the Church and down Chapel Lane. At the end look for the path known as Lovers lane. Walk down this for 60mters to Back Lane (by railway line), turn left and ride along this for 450 meters to the B6478. B: Turn right onto B6478 CAUTION TRAFIC as you turn cross. Follow this road over river bridge and ride on for nearly 3km, to arrive in Wigglesworth at The Plough pub. C: Ride up through the village for 600meters to a T junction and take the left turning signposted: Bolton by Bowland. D: Stay on this road (Forrest Becks Brow) nearly 1km to a T-junction. Turn left at the T-junction signposted Paythorne. Follow this for 2.5km as you climb up past the mast and then down hill to a left turning T-junction (8km half way point). E: Take the left turning singposted: Halton West and Hellifield. After 1.5km you will reach a T- junction where you turn left (Hellifield). F: Ride through Halton west after 1km and follow road down over the River Ribble Cuation on the descent to the bridge as poor surface. After 500meters you will reach the busy A682 G: Turn left onto the A682 and note that this is an A road with 60mph speed limit. After a few Cafes/Pubs hundred meters you can take a right turning to visit Hellifield if you wish CAUTION as you turn Long Preston: The Maypole Inn (01729 840219) right.
