Benissa–Bernià Trail
The Bèrnia Mountain Range, a natural barrier running from east to west, rises up to a majestic height of 1,129 m., separating Alicante’s Marina Alta and Marina Baixa regions physically and climatically. The Bèrnia Mountain Range extends over the following municipalities: Altea, Benissa, Calpe, Callosa d´En Sarrià and Jalón/Xaló Route name: PR-V7 Bèrnia Trail. Aproximate duration: Three and a half hours Total Km: 8 km. description Degree of difficulty: Medium-High. HOW TO GET THERE : The route we are going to follow is circular and may be considered From Benissa and Jalón/Xaló. Both population centres are linked via the CV- as the most representative of the Bèrnia Mountain Range. It will take us from 745 and CV-750 regional roads. Les Cases de Bèrnia to Font de Bèrnia and through Forat, heading on to Fort de Bèrnia, and returning to Les Cases de Bèrnia, all in roughly 3 hours and a Benissa: 1 Km. from the town, heading towards Alicante on N-332, half. take CV-750 towards Xaló CV-750 and 300 m on we take the left-hand tur- noff for C-749, the "Pinos-Bèrnia" access route that leads to Les Cases de We start out on a path which will take us to a crossroads marked Bèrnia (16 Km). as “PRV-7 Bèrnia”, at which point we will take the path on the left until we reach 1. This document was designed as a tool for assessing and guiding water management in Spain. Although Spain’s future water policy is outlined in the conclusions, the points mentioned refer only to quantitative aspects of water resources without considering the issue of quality. Nonetheless, the issue of river, reservoir, lake and groundwater pollution is taken into account in the assessment section. Amongst the problems related to water quality, the White Paper notes, among others, problems related with Directives 91/271/EEC and 91/676/EEC. Directions to Javea – Port
Directions to Mont Salonica – Arenal, Javea From Alicante Airport As you leave the airport car parks, you’ll see a sign above and in front of you for Madrid and Valencia - pass under this and you will then bear left. Follow this and then you will bear right – you will find yourself on the Motorway almost immediately. After a few hundred metres you need to branch right signposted Valencia. (Do not go straight on to Murcia.) You should now be on A7-E15 Autopista to Valencia. After about 10 mins after you go around Alicante you will come to a toll booth – take a ticket. Then just drive with the sea on your right through a couple of tunnels, past Benidorm and Calpe for 35 to 40 minutes and look out for Junction 62, signed Javea/Xabia, Denia, Ondara. At the end of the slip road you will need to pay your toll – approx 8-9 Euros. 100m after the toll you will see a small slip road on the right signposted to Javea – take that. You should now find yourself on the N332. You then continue for approx 5.5km passing a Shell garage and then some commercial buildings. As you come to a curve in the road there is a slip road on the right signposted Javea – take this. Keep straight on this road over roundabouts (3) approx 7km. Continue on and as you come to a brow of a hill about 100m after is a 4th roundabout which will be signposted left for Javea town.(Centre Urbano). -

RUTA 8: DÉNIA-GATA DE GORGOS-JALÓN-LLÍBER-SENIJA-BENISSA FICHA DE LA RUTA Acceso en tren: Estación de Dénia. Dificultad: Media. Desnivel: 250 m. Distancia: 33,11 km. Tipo de terreno: 26,48 km asfalto y 6,63 km tierra. Horarios tren: www.fgvalicante.com o en el Tlf.: 965 262 731 Cartografía: Mapa Militar de España, escala 1:50.000, hojas 30-31 y 30-32 EN BICI POR LOS VALLES DE LLÍBER Y DEL POP A escasos kilómetros de la costa existen valles pintorescos como el de Llíber y el del Pop. Nos acercaremos a ellos remontando el curso del río Jalón-Gorgos. Integrados en el paisaje iremos descubriendo, corrales, pozos antiguos, cobertizos, casas de labranza, algunas ya en ruinas, que nos dan la impresión de que aquí el tiempo no ha pasado. De esta forma llegamos a Jalón, donde podemos reponer ánimos visitando las bodegas, degustando los tradicionales mistelas o los modernos caldos que elaboran. Esta ruta es ideal para un sábado, día en que se celebra el populoso e interesante mercado de antigüedades. Además, Jalón cuenta con otros atractivos como las casas señoriales del casco urbano o el Museo Etnológico. Tras visitar los otros dos pueblos vitivinícolas, Llíber y Senija, llegamos a Benissa, donde nos sorprenderá su interesante casco antiguo. ITINERARIO Después de haber visitado Dénia, nos dirigimos a la gasolinera "REPSOL" situada a la salida de la ciudad, en dirección a Ondara, para comenzar nuestra ruta. Antes de llegar a la gasolinera vemos unos paneles de senderos y un camino de tierra a la derecha de la gasolinera que es lo único que queda del antiguo trazado de la vía del tren Dénia-Carcaixent y que fue desmantelado en los años 70. -
