Swiss Beach Soccer National Team
Information for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup from the 27th april to 7th may 2017 in Nassau, Bahamas.
This is the 4th participation for the Swiss Beach Soccer Nationalteam at a FIFA World Cup after 2009, 2011 and 2015. The biggest success was at the 1st participation 2009 when the Swiss team reached the final against Brazil. Swiss Beach Soccer was founded 2001 by Coach Angelo Schirinzi and CEO Reto Wenger, in the same year the national team take part at the European Championship in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. The 1st qualifi- cation tournament for a World Cup Switzerland played 2004 in Rio de Janeiro.

European Qualifiers 2016
The European Qualifiers were played in September 2016 in Jesolo, Italy. Switzerland reached the final against Poland who won the tournament. The semifinalists Italy and Portugal also qualified for the World Cup. The two times World Champion Russia and Spain missed the qualification. Best scorer of the tournament was the Swiss forward Dejan Stankovic with 25 goals.
