This is the 4th participation for the Swiss Beach Soccer Nationalteam at a FIFA World Cup after 2009, 2011 and 2015. The biggest success was at the 1st participation 2009 when the Swiss team reached the final against Brazil. Swiss Beach Soccer was founded 2001 by Coach Angelo Schirinzi and CEO Reto Wenger, in the same year the national team take part at the European Championship in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria.
