Good morning

Dr Tsao Shiu Ying Chairman Board of Directors of the Parkway Healthcare Foundation

Distinguished guests

Ladies and gentlemen

I am happy to be here this morning for the “Reach Out & Run 2001 – for the Elderly”, an annual fund-raising event by the Parkway Healthcare Foundation.

2 The Foundation’s target for this fund-raising event is $350,000 for its elderly care programme. This programme was set up by the Foundation to provide home healthcare services for the poor elderly sick in the community and the training of their caregivers. 3 The services are rendered by professional healthcare providers in the homes of the elderly which include health assessment, tube-feeding, change of tubes, mobility training, wound care, injections, incontinence care and other related services.

4 These services are provided, free-of-charge, to the needy elderly residents in the districts of Community Development Council (CDC), -Cheng San CDC and CDC. It plans to offer this service to the elderly in North-East CDC and - CDC next year.

5 I would like to commend the Foundation for providing free medical services to the elderly. I hope that the Foundation will continue to keep up its good work.

6 It is now, my pleasure to flag off this fund-raising event.
