There were also two pastors who had hosted him, convincing Ebelievers that the white man was Jesus ‘Jesus’ Christ, and he had finally come back as he had promised in the Bible. The evangelist, who is known as Michael Jobs, responded to the claims saying the news was fake. Through his social media page he wrote, “Hey guys! Just to let you know there has been responds to many false “fake news” reports here in about me. I just did nine days of crusades in Ongata Rongai, Kitengela, and Kiserian, where many people were saved and healed.” He went ahead to explain that he dressed up as Jesus during the crusades because they deportation were performing plays focusing on the life of Christ. By Koi Kimani The flipside Ladies love a good chat. We are emotional beings, that is just who we are. We love talking and being heard. When you’re with your closest girl- friends, you tend to have all kinds of discussions, and we comfort and give each other advice where need be (even when none is needed). Of the many topics we discuss, our men are definitely going to have a slot on there. To start off the conversation, one common remark is ‘…you have been too MIA from the group’ even when you know well that you have only missed one lunch date but for some reason, it’s always a bigger deal if you took a raincheck on them because of your man. Scenic Naivasha.

Breathtaking ridge. ur adventure begins in the heart of the Nyondia community, nine kilometers from the Naivasha/Nakuru- ONairobi highway junction. There exists a private animal sanctuary consisting of a few animals that gather there in the evening after a busy day. The sanctuary hosts Thompson’s gazelles, zebras, wild rabbits, giraffes and wildebeests. Our tour guide for the day, Mr Lawrence, who happens to be the operations manager of Dove Nest Lodge, patiently took us to each of the animals’ habitats, explaining their plans for the park, which the lodge co- owns with the government and the Cave community. “We want to dig a water hole so that the animals don’t have to go very far for water. The sanctuary can also handle more animals and we are in talks with KWS to bring in more,” exploring in he narrated to us. The unnamed sanctuary, while about 35km from Hells Gate, is still considered a part of the Hells Gate animal sanctuary. At its heart is a spot that gives the view of Lake Naivasha Naivasha and its scenic surroundings. After a brief photo shoot, we retired to the lodge at sunset. ;IHHMRK TVEGXMGIW IQFIHHIHMRSYV ĂGSRWXMXYXMSRă Getting married is a community affair in our society, and we all engage when the nuptials are upon us. As a result, regard- less of how informed or exposed we are, some of these practices are always ad- hered to; they may be twisted to suit the part, but should take place nonetheless. Song and dance This goes without saying. I cannot imag- ine a scenario without music. It is in the constitution; song and dance from older folk, especially women, is compulsory. In ages to come, we can only wonder who will continue this habit of singing around the bride’s ride before she leaves home, before she alights at the venue and when the happy couple makes an entry at the reception. This definitely reads like a busi- ness opportunity. It is high time those that know these songs set up entertainment companies that will serenade in such mo- ments, seeing as we are quickly losing the grip on our cultures. Feasting Forget the business of cooking just enough food for an estimated number of guests. Real weddings have food. No one should even think about eating before a wedding. The trend that has guests arriving late at receptions as they had to grab something, just because they know food will be de- pleted, should stop. What’s a real celebra- tion without food? It certainly doesn’t pass as one. Dress code for who? Let the guests pick their own outfits. Isn’t it enough that you chose your gown and suit? Do not micromanage people into dressing up. It is a wedding and not a cos- tume party. You could give hints subtly on the invitation cards; there are people that live for those kinds of things, and some re- ally want to come to your wedding to cele- brate with you and hopefully meet people. Do not get carried away by the Western na- ture that has guests dressed as instructed. This is Kenya; we do not like instruction. Speeches An MC cutting short an uncle from giving his speech on behalf of the family really is disrespectful. Let the men/women speak. This important detail needs not be handled by a best friend who is now your brother or sister by association. It is sacred and should only be done by an elder in the fam- ily.
