Perspectivas plurales (pp: 63 - 82) Rosario Central y Newells: notas sobre una rivalidad Juan Manuel Sodo Recibido: 11/08/2020 Evaluado: 10/12/2020 Resumen: El siguiente artículo presenta al lector algunas características del partido clásico de la ciudad de Rosario. Primero se interroga, en general, por las variables que hacen que dos clubes se vuelvan clásicos rivales. ¿Por qué son clásicos los clásicos? ¿Con qué tienen que ver las enemistades? Luego, intenta dar cuenta de las particularidades del caso rosarino. ¿Por qué se dice que no existe en el mundo un partido más caliente que el de Newells y Central? ¿Dónde podemos leer esa singularidad? Finalmente, discurre acerca de las consecuencias no deseadas que la rivalidad termina generando, en tres niveles: al momento de investigar, a nivel de la implicación de los hinchas con sus clubes y a nivel de la gestión estatal de la seguridad. Éste es uno de los cuestionamientos que intenta resolver este artículo. Su objetivo es presentar el impacto de la primera visita de un club argentino a España, el Club Atlético Boca Juniors, en la prensa española de 1925. A nivel metodológico, se revisó la bibliografía y las principales revistas y periódicos españoles, tanto deportivos como de información general. Se demuestra, como conclusión general, el interés que despertó entre los aficionados españoles y argentinos la gira del Boca Juniors, mostrándola como una ocasión para subrayar a través del fútbol la propia identidad nacional y las relaciones globales. Switched to boys’ soccer in 1990 at Amundsen. Went to Champi- onship game against Roosevelt, but lost the game 2 to 1 on penalty kicks. Started the Girls Soccer Team in 1995, a year after girls soccer came to Chicago. It was of special significance because he created the team and it was a big deal to have girls’ soccer in Chicago. The suburbs had 10 years of girls’ soccer by ’95. Through the 90’s, there were two good boy’s teams that domi- nated on the Northside of Chicago, Amundsen and Foreman. It was difficult to get pass Foreman in the playoffs . Also, in those times it was Southside versus Northside. First the South- side schools play against each other and Northside schools against each other as AVAILABLE AD SPACE well. North versus South played for the city tittle. Finally, in ’98, the girls’ team won their first championship. They beat Kennedy 1-0 in overtime. This was thanks to Angeline Santana. The boys also won the championship in ’98, and ’99 against Farragut .They won their third tittle in four years against Kennedy in 01 .
