The Under 15 Cup will take place in Calgary, Alberta with Manitoba being represented by FC Northwest in the girl’s division and Bonivital SC in the boy’s division. The Under 17 Cup will take place in Fredericton, New Brunswick with Manitoba being represented by Bonivital SC in both the girl’s and boy’s divisions respectively. Finally, the Senior Men’s Challenge Trophy will be played in Surrey, British Columbia with FC Winnipeg Lions representing the province after winning their 10th Manitoba provincial title. All 2017 Toyota National Championships will run from October 4th to 9th, 2017. Canada Soccer will be broadcasting daily from all venues, and live streaming of matches can be found at canadasoccer.com. It will be an exciting weekend, as this will be the first time for many players participating in a National Competition. The National Club Competition will test all team’s resiliency as they play multiple matches against tough opponents over a short period of time. Héctor Vergara, MSA Executive Director, commented, “The Manitoba clubs have been working hard preparing for Nationals and we wish them all well. We know it is a difficult competition but with the right mind set every club has a good opportunity to do well. We hope that everyone enjoys the experience and has a great competition. All the best to the coaches, players and referees from Manitoba.” The Masters and Classics Regional Club Championships were held at the end of September in Edmonton, Alberta with Classics SC finishing fifth overall in the women’s division, and Rovers FC finishing in the bronze medal position in the men’s division. MSA referees will also be represented at the national level. The Referee Program will be sending two match officials and two assessors to the various competitions. Nicolas Joubert has been selected to participate at the U15 competition in Calgary, while National Assessor Frank Major will be assessing at the competition. National Assistant Referee Graham Forsyth will travel to Surrey to participate at the Challenge Trophy competition and National Assessor Mario Perrino will be assessing at the competition.
