So if you haven’t yet discovered them, enjoy meeting Hooverphonic lead singer Noémie Wolfs on page 32, who graces the cover, and up-and- coming fashion designer Céline De Schepper, who made the clothes. Writer Delphine Stefens makes it obvious she ON THE COVER had a schoolgirl crush on one of her contemporaries, now designing a range of exclusive watches – read Delphine’s article about Benoît Mintiens on page 49, as well as her pieces on fashion and beauty elsewhere in this issue. Veteran Brussels correspondent David Haworth’s profile of Belgian Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo on page 16 mentions the premier’s pledge to learn Flemish. But if history had turned out differently, he may also have been obliged to learn Neo, a so-called universal language invented by a Belgian diplomat. Colin Moors has the details on page 18.     Greenland 2019 West Greenland Hunting in Greenland is the world’s largest island. Having a surface of 2.18 million, km² and only Greenland about 59,000 inhabitants it is one of the least densely populated regions in the world. The capital city is Nuuk, which has not more than 12,000 inhabitants. A large part of the country is always covered with ice, which can reach a thickness of 3,500m. About one sixth of the island is ice-free. Away from the coasts, the inland is dominated by inhospitable ice and cold deserts. Arctic climate prevails with maximum temperatures from 20 °C in the south to -5 °C in the north. In winter, lowest temperatures are around -50 °C. Hunting We are hunting in different areas winter and autumn, and in two different areas in autumn. areas: In winter, we hunt in a big area outside the concessions, its south of Kangerlussuaq, and is about 350.000 acres. Transport is easy with snowmobiles, so we can easily get around in the area. Only our company and one other outfitter can offer hunts in this unique area where the Inuit started hunting 4000 thousand years ago, and where their old settlements and stone installation for driven hunts is still there.
