• Allthedownlinked datawerestoredontheSIRIUSsystem,which wasconnectedtomainframeatISASmaincampus.Datawere reformattedonUSprovidedworkstation,aftertheywere transferredfromSIRIUS. • SIRIUSwasupdatedonlyduringlocalbusinesshours,sodata frompassesafterFridayeveningwerenotreformatteduntil Mondaymorning. • Around1995,the“temporary” SIRIUSwasroutinelyreformatted followingeachKSCpass,andSXTdatabecameofmoreusefor planning. • Officialreformattingwasdoneonaweeklybasis,afterconfirming thearrivalofalltheDSNdata. • OvertheYohkoh lifetime,datadistributionmediachangedfrom Exabyte tape,CD,toInternet.

• ButasmallnumberdailyimagesweresenttoNOAAfromthe beginning(andtheYohkoh teamgotGOES3secXrayfluxdata).

• Inreality,datawerealwaysavailablethroughcollaborationswith teammembers.

• DatausewastobeadministeredbytheYohkoh ScienceCouncil, andtheDataUseCoordinators,andaresearchproposalwas requiredtoanalyzedata,butthissystemwaspracticallydefunct.

• Apartfromdataaccess,theYohkoh teamalwayswelcomed coordinatedobservations.

• Datafromalltheinstrumentsandthesatellitesystemwere reformattedatthesametimewithaconsistentformatandfile name(i.e.,XXXyymmdd.hhmm,whereXXXstandsforoneof “ada”,“bda”,“cba”,“hda”,“sfr”,“spr” and“wda”.)

• Auxiliarydata(satellitepointing,observinglog,etc.)werealso generatedduringreformattingandsavedasweeklyfiles.

• Theamountofdata(100150MB/day)wasquitemodestintoday’s standard.

• “FirstLight” wasautomaticallygeneratedaftereachKSCpass since1996.Thisisabasisofthe“LatestEvents” page.

• Yohkoh hadasignificantEPOprogramcalledYPOPthatwas targetedprimarilyforgradeschools.

• InOctober1997,HughHudsonstartedSXTweeklyscience nuggetsontheWeb,reportingonwhattheSXTChieObserver foundinterestingintheYohkoh data.ThisisinheritedtoRHESSI, andtheACEteamhassimilar(butmorerefined)reports.

• SOHOYohkoh CoordinatedDataAnalysisWorkshops(startingin February1997)stimulatedscientificcollaborations.

• Yohkoh wasaratherminorpresenceasfarastheNASApress releaseswereconcerned.PerhapshavingPRpersonnel stationedatGSFCwouldhavehelped.

• Yohkoh setamodelforsolarphysicsmissions,notonlyintermsof scientificimpacts,butalsointermsofthewaydatawerearchived anddistributed,andbecauseoftheharmoniouswayinternational teamsworkedtogether.

• Operationswererelativelysimple,andevenscientistshadlittle difficultywiththem(apartfrominteractionwithmainframe).

• TheLEOandlimitedonboarddatastoragereduceddata coverage.Inaddition,flaresandnonsynopticscienceoperations interruptedfulldisksoftXrayimages.Buttheimpactwasmade minimal.
