CHAMPIONS of HIGHER EDUCATION EXCELLENCE IN TRANSFER

2018 HONOREES THE CAMPAIGN FOR COLLEGE OPPORTUNITY is pleased to honor these Community Colleges and California State as 2018 Higher Education Champions for Excellence in Transfer

The California honorees produce the largest number of students earning an for Transfer (ADT), have demonstrated the largest growth in ADT production year over year, award ADTs as the majority of their Associate Degrees awarded, and/or despite diff erences in enrollment, award more ADTs relative to their enrollment size.

MOORPARK COLLEGE conferred 1,057 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17, ranking it 1st among the 114 California Community Colleges in terms of ADT production. Moorpark grew ADT production by 257 from the 2015-16 academic year, also making it the top institution with the biggest growth. Moorpark College also awards the most ADTs relative to its enrollment size. Moorpark College is in Ventura County and serves approximately 13,000 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, Moorpark transferred 905 students to the CSU system.

PASADENA CITY COLLEGE conferred 1,040 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17, ranking it 2nd among the 114 California Community Colleges in terms of ADT production. Pasadena City College grew ADT production by 240 from the 2015-2016 academic year. Pasadena City College is in Los Angeles County and serves approximately 27,000 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, Pasadena City College transferred 1,340 students to the CSU system.

ORANGE COAST COLLEGE College conferred 898 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17, ranking it 3rd among the 114 California Community Colleges in terms of ADT production. Orange Coast grew ADT production by 161 from the 2015-2016 academic year. is in Orange County and serves approximately 19,000 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, Orange Coast College transferred 1,402 students to the CSU system.

COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS conferred 729 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17. College of the Canyons grew ADT production by 220 from the 2015-2016 academic year, ranking it 3rd among the 114 California Community Colleges in terms of ADT growth. College of the Canyons is in Los Angeles County and serves approximately 16,000 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, Orange Coast College transferred 881 students to the CSU system.

LONG BEACH CITY COLLEGE conferred 782 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17, representing 51% of all associate degrees conferred by the college. Long Beach grew ADT production by 206 from the 2015-2016 academic year, ranking it 4th among the 114 California Community Colleges in terms of ADT growth. Long Beach City College is in Los Angeles County and serves approximately 20,000 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, Long Beach City College transferred 1,109 students to the CSU system.

EAST LOS ANGELES COLLEGE conferred 661 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17. East Los Angeles grew ADT production by 206 from the 2015-2016 academic year, tying Long Beach City College as 4th among the 114 California Community Colleges in terms of ADT growth. East Los Angeles College is in Los Angeles County and serves approximately 24,000 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, East Los Angeles College transferred 1,168 students to the CSU system. CLOVIS COMMUNITY COLLEGE Clovis Community College conferred 342 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17. This represented 72% of all associate degrees conferred by the college, the largest percentage among the 114 California Community Colleges. Clovis also ranks 2nd among all California Community Colleges in the number of ADTs conferred relative to its enrollment size. Clovis Community College is in Fresno County and serves approximately 18,000 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, Clovis Community College transferred 885 students to the CSU system.

BERKELEY CITY COLLEGE conferred 238 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17. This represented 58% of all associate degrees conferred by the college, the 2nd highest percentage among the 114 California Community Colleges. Berkeley City College is in Alameda County and serves approximately 4,500 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, Berkeley City College transferred 199 students to the CSU system.

GLENDALE COMMUNITY COLLEGE Glendale Community College conferred 467 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17. This represented 55% of all associate degrees conferred by the college, the 3rd highest percentage among the 114 California Community Colleges. Glendale Community College is in Los Angeles County and serves approximately 15,000 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, Glendale Community College transferred 888 students to the CSU system.

GROSSMONT COLLEGE conferred 797 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17 and grew ADT production by 175 from the 2015-2016 academic year. Grossmont ranks 3rd among the 114 California Community Colleges in the number of ADTs conferred relative to its enrollment size. Grossmont College is in San Diego County and serves approximately 12,000 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, Grossmont College transferred 718 students to the CSU system.

CITRUS COLLEGE conferred 803 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17. Citrus College ranks 4th in the number of ADTs conferred relative to its enrollment size. Citrus College is in Los Angeles County and serves approximately 13,000 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, Citrus College transferred 759 students to the CSU system.

GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE conferred 596 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17. Golden West ranks 5th in the number of ADTs conferred relative to its enrollment size. Golden West College is in Orange County and serves approximately 10,000 full-time equivalent students. In 2016-17, Golden West College transferred 843 students to the CSU system.

EXCELLENCE IN INNOVATION

CUESTA COLLEGE conferred 418 Associate Degrees for Transfer in 2016-17. Cuesta College is one of the top institutions awarding ADTs relative to campus enrollment. Cuesta College is recognized for their early innovative strategies to ensure the ADT is the preferred transfer pathway for students. In its early stages of SB 1440 implementation, Cuesta College convened leaders across campus departments to strategize ways to move towards 100% implementation of the ADT. Over the years, the work of the self-described “ADT Team” to scale the ADT has led to more than 1,100 degrees awarded between 2014-2017. Today, Cuesta off ers 96% of the available ADT pathways. Cuesta College is in San Luis Obispo County and serves approximately 8,000 full-time equivalent students. The California State (CSU) honorees enrolled the largest number of ADT students, have the largest number of ADT transfer per 100 campus enrollees, have demonstrated the biggest growth in ADT enrollment year over year, and/or have the highest number of degrees deemed similar to the available Transfer Model Curricula. CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, DOMINGUEZ HILLS In the fall of 2017, CSU Dominguez Hills enrolled 1,249 Associate Degree for Transfer students, an increase of 463% from 2016-2017. Nearly half (47%) of CSU Dominguez Hills’ transfer students are ADT earners. For every 100 campus enrollees, CSU Dominguez Hills enrolls 10 ADT earners, ranking it 1st among the 23 CSU campuses for enrolling more ADT earners relative to overall enrollment. CSU Dominguez Hills is in Los Angeles County and enrolled 2,649 transfer students in fall 2017.

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, LOS ANGELES In the fall of 2017, Cal State LA enrolled 1,105 Associate Degree for Transfer students. This is an increase of 376% from 2016-2017, ranking them 2nd among the 23 CSU campuses for their ADT enrollment growth. Cal State LA is in Los Angeles County and enrolled 3,227 transfer students in fall 2017.

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, NORTHRIDGE In the fall of 2017, CSU Northridge enrolled 1,794 Associate Degree for Transfer students, ranking it 1st among the 23 CSU campuses for enrolling ADT students. This is an increase of 335% from 2016-2017. CSU Northridge is in Los Angeles County and enrolled 4,701 transfer students in fall 2017.

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, STANISLAUS In the fall of 2017, CSU Stanislaus enrolled 481 Associate Degree for Transfer students. The majority (51%) of CSU Stanislaus’ transfer students are ADT earners. To ensure a seamless transition to the CSU, ADT earners must access all possible majors aligned with their degree. About 175 of CSU Stanislaus’ majors are aligned with the 32 Transfer Model Curricula (TMC). This represents 86% of all their possible majors, making them a leading institution among the 23 CSU campuses for their degree alignment to TMCs. CSU Stanislaus is in the Central Valley and enrolled 938 transfer students in fall 2017.
