BLACK FLAMINGO Movie Club’s Debut Full-length Record “Black Flamingo” OUT 11/27/20 Listen Now Website Spotify Youtube Instagram In a time when words often fail us, there is Movie Club: The instrumental rock band that expresses a range of raw emotions without need for lyrics. Black Flamingo will be released two years after the band played their @irst show at the infamous Pre-Cal Jam party at Fonogenic Studios. Legendary Venice guitarist Robby Krieger (The Doors) headlined the stage later that evening and Dave Grohl BBQed in the parking lot throughout the night. It all came full circle when the band mixed their @irst LP at Fonogenic this spring. “The response from that original show was so positive that it gave us the courage to continue,” drummer Jessamyn Violet says. “We’re doing something different, and it’s fun.” Movie Club is made up of Vince Cuneo on guitar and Jessamyn Violet on drums. The band has been building an international fan base since their irst EP Kraken dropped in February of 2019. Since then, they have released a total of three EPs that have caught ears all over the globe. “Instrumental music is for everyone," Cuneo says, "no matter which language you speak or culture you come from.” Black Flamingo features special guests on several tracks: Rami Jaffee on keys (Foo Fighters, Wall@lowers), Tim Lefebvre on bass (Bowie, Black Crowes), and Jessy Greene on violin (P!NK, Foo Fighters). Movie Club self-produced the record, engineered and mixed by Jeff Thompson and mastered by Mike Tucci. There will be a limited run of vinyl along with the release, cut by the legendary Andy VanDette.
