TOURISM DEPARTMENT HARYANA CITIZEN CHARTER the Tourism TOURISM DEPARTMENT HARYANA CITIZEN CHARTER The Tourism Department Haryana came into existence in the year 1966 when the State of Haryana was created as a separate State from joint Punjab. The office of the Tourism Department Haryana is located at SCO-17-19, Sector –17 B, Chandigarh. The primary function of the Tourism Department is to develop tourism infrastructure in the public sector and private sector. The development of tourism infrastructure in the public sector is done by way of funds received from the State Govt. in its annual/five year plans. In addition, the Tourism Department makes efforts to get maximum possible Central Financial Assistance from Govt. of India for creation of tourism infrastructure. Once developed and furnished the tourist complexes are handed over to the Haryana Tourism Corporation for their maintenance and operation as an agent of the State Government. As on date, the department has set up a net work of 42 tourist complexes spreading all over the state. The Government has set up a network of 42 tourist complexes all over the State which are extremely popular with the tourists. There are total 844 rooms, Convention Centres, Golf Courses, Lakes, Heritage rooms and other facilities such as Camping Sites. The Govt. has provided major thrust to tourism promotion in the State, so that it becomes a major engine of economic growth and a catalyst of employment generation. The Government has announced its Tourism Policy in the year 2008. The Tourism Policy has acknowledged the role of private sector in tourism development and promotion with Government acting as facilitator and catalyst for the future growth. Thrust has been given on human resources development, systematic marketing and adoption of new technologies in the tourism sector. PROMOTION OF FARM TOURISM The department has introduce a new concept of promotion of Farm Tourism in the State in which suitable farms are identified where the tourists are encouraged to visit the farms and see the rural/village life. The Union Ministry of Tourism has launched a training programme called ‘Hunar Se Rozgar’ to create employable skills in the interested youth who are in the age group of 18-28 and who re minimum 8th pass. The State Government has implemented this scheme in its own IHMs, in private institutes and also in collaboration with ITDC.

The generation of axenic diatom cultures like other cell culture requires special treatment and requirement of macro, micronutrients vitamins and pH. However, since silica is the most important component of diatom cell wall it is most important component of the media too. The f/2 media with little modification served as the best media for fresh water diatoms collected from water bodies of Northern western India with culture conditions standardized at temperature 22°C, light intensity 18000 lumen per m2, 16 hours/8 hours of light:dark conditions. The present study demonstrates the protocol to hinder the growth of fungi, bacteria and other green algae which contaminates the diatom culture. It was observed that antibiotic mixture of penicillin G and streptomycin in the ratio of 1:0.5 removed most of the bacterial growth in the culture media.

Depending on specific habitat functioning, their population pattern helps to determine the ecological health of an area. Bird sur- veys were accomplished on a fortnightly basis from October 2019 to September 2020 using Scan sampling, Point count and Line transect methods for evaluation of species abundance and richness in and around Ottu Reservoir, district Sirsa, Haryana (India). A total of 114 species comprising 91 genera, 47 families and 18 orders were recorded, among which 76 species were resident, 30 winter migrants and 8 summer migrants. Out of reported 114 species of birds, one species was vulnerable, 6 Near- threatened as listed by IUCN. Three bird species were listed under Schedule-I and the remaining species under Schedule-IV of IWPA (1972); six species under appendices of CITES (2012).

There are in all 848 rooms with 1863 beds, Convention Centers, Golf Courses, Lakes, Heritage rooms and other facilities such as Camping Sites etc. The Govt. has provided major thrust to tourism promotion in the State, so that it becomes a major engine of economic growth and a catalyst of employment generation. Present paper is an analysis of available tourism infrastructure in state. A multi-index system has been used to assess the ecological health which includes Carlson’s Trophic State Index (CTSI), Simpson’s Diversity Index (SDI) and Water Quality Index (WQI). The results indicated that the lake health is average but is approaching to bad condition as indicated by EHI of 2.93. Suitable conservative measures should be adopted to arrest its further degradation. Certain conservative measures are also suggested.
