OUR GROUP FIDELIDADE GROUP Two centuries of history have contributed to Fidelidade’s current credibility, size and solidity. Until 2000 the Portuguese insurance sector was mostly concentrated on six insurers following the reorganisation of the industry in the 1980s. More recently, after 2000, the Portuguese market began a new phase of consolidation, which gave rise to two major players in the sector: Fidelidade Mundial (FM) and Império Bonança (IB), held by two of the largest Portuguese financial groups (CGD and BCP, respectively). In 2005, CGD – the sole shareholder of Fidelidade Mundial – acquired Império Bonança, establishing the basis for a new phase in the consolidation of the market. The result was a Portuguese insurance group combining the major Portuguese insurers, enabling the creation of important synergies and consolidation of assets and unique skills within the sector. The years that followed were marked by progressive integration of the operations of the two companies culminating in the final merger of FM and IB in 2012 and the launch of the single brand, Fidelidade, in mid-2013. In 2014, the company was privatised, with the Fosun Group acquiring approximately 84.99% of Fidelidade’s capital, and the CGD Group remaining the reference shareholder with 15%. BEFORE 2000 2001-2004 2005-2012 2012-2013 2014-TODAY Fidelidade’s roots Consolidation period The sole Fidelidade 2012: Merger Fosun acquires date back to 1808, in the Portuguese Mundial shareholder between FM and IB an 85% share in with the creation of market also acquires Império becoming Market Fidelidade Bonança Bonança Leader Establishment of two Bank distribution Up until 2000, there market leaders: 2013: Launching contract with CGD were several insurers Fidelidade of the single brand for 25 years of similar size Mundial (FM) e Fidelidade with 200 Império Bonança (IB) years of history From 2014 on, Fidelidade entered a new phase of development, bolstered by support from the shareholders and focused on two priorities: consolidation of its leadership in the Portuguese market and international expansion. Applying this strategy, in 2014 the Fidelidade Group acquired Garantia, the leading insurance company in Cape Verde, and Espírito Santo Saúde, a leading healthcare provider in Portugal, now renamed Luz Saúde. 9 ANNUAL REPORT 2018 2. OUR GROUP FIDELIDADE GROUP C. ABOUT THE FIDELIDADE GROUP i. Shareholder Structure Fidelidade’s current shareholder structure is the result of the privatisation process that took place in 2014. Fosun now holds approximately 84.99% of the capital, and CGD holds 15.00%. The complementary relationship and ambition of these two shareholders of reference provide a guarantee of the stability and dynamism of the Company’s operations. Shareholder Structure Description of the Major Shareholders Fosun Chinese investment conglomerate of global dimension, focused on the insurance industry and present in several different business sectors. Caixa Geral de Depósitos Portuguese state bank, considered the largest financial institution in Portugal, with approx. 4 million clients and with presence in more than 20 countries. Fosun 84.99% Caixa Geral de Depósitos 15.00% Employees and Own Shares 0.01% ii. Group Structure The Fidelidade Group operates in the Portuguese market through its different insurance companies (Fidelidade, Via Directa and Companhia Portuguesa de Resseguro). It also has a presence in the international market through Fidelidade branches (in Spain, France, Luxembourg, Macao - Life Segment, and Mozambique) and through its insurance subsidiaries, Fidelidade Angola, Garantia and Fidelidade Macao (Non-Life segment). Fidelidade also maintains close ties with other insurance companies that have a similar shareholder structure, Multicare and Fidelidade Assistência. In both cases, these insurers operate in a fully coordinated manner with Fidelidade in order to guarantee a robust offer of products and services. Lastly, the Fidelidade Group also has strategic shares in companies providing related services, for example Luz Saúde, the leading healthcare provider group in Portugal. These interests are in line with an approach of vertical integration in the insurance sector and fit within the Group’s strategy of guaranteeing operational excellence and quality of the service provided throughout the value chain and of increasing the Group’s position as a global service provider of people protection. 10 ANNUAL REPORT 2018 2. The growth of this sector in our country has been a major Key for the wealth creation in Portugal, and one of the main drivers for our economy. Last year, 2017, we broke new records again – revenue increased 20%, something we had not seen in the last two decades. So strong is the performance of tourism in Portugal that it accounts for more than half the services exports and 18% of the exports of goods and services. Last year, overall, Portuguese exports Kept growing and represented 42,5% of our GDP, a new record, which clearly shows how sustainable and resilient the Portuguese economy is. We are also aware that the demand for high quality health treatments is growing, namely because of demographics, and we have identified that as a priority in our National Strategy for Tourism 2027. We have some of the best qualified doctors and nurses and modern and functional medical infrastructures that are able to serve both locals and tourists.

Abstract: GDPR introduces a new concept: ”Data protection by design and per default” for new software development however legacy systems will also have to adapt in order to comply. This creates great pressure on health care institutions, namely hospitals, and software producers to provide data protections and traceability mechanisms for their current and legacy systems. The aim of this work is to understand the maturity level of a Portuguese Healthcare Organization in their audit records to comply with GDPR article 30 and 32 since healthcare orga- nization operate in a daily-basis with personal data. This study was performed with the partnership of a public Portuguese healthcare organization and were organized into three main phases: (1) data collection of all in- formation systems that operate with personal data; (2) interviews with IT professionals in order to retrieve the necessary knowledge for each information system and (3) analysis of the collected data and its conclusions. This study helped to identify a need inside this organization and to determine a follow-up plan to overpass this challenge.

  • Access to Healthcare in Portugal for EU Nationals
b50 FISCAL & EXPATRIATE SERVICES Access to Healthcare in Portugal for EU Nationals If you are in receipt of a Social Security Pension or long term Incapacity Benefit and you decide to move to Portugal permanently, ask for your S1 (previously E121) from your Social Security office or, in the case of UK nationals, the International Pension Centre (IPC) in Newcastle. Once registered with the Portuguese authorities, the S1 gives you and your dependants the same medical cover in Portugal as a Portuguese national under the Portuguese national health scheme. This cover may not be the same as you received before so you may have to pay for some treatments or services. Remember that: • you will be charged a nominal fee for a state GP consultation; • you will have to pay a contribution towards the cost of any medicines and/or medical exams you may need, such as x-rays, scans, blood tests; • spectacles are not available free-of-charge; • treatment given privately and repatriation costs to the UK are not covered. Think about whether you want to take out private health insurance; • some social services may not be available. Registering with the authorities for Healthcare In order to register for healthcare and obtain a health card (Cartão de Utente), take your S1 and your identification to your local health centre (Centro da Saúde) or nearest Loja do Cidadão. They will keep both copies of your S1 and issue you with a provisional certificate to allow you to access the Portuguese state-run health system immediately. Your health card will be sent to you later by post.
