 Top-ranked Wheeler advances to fi rst soccer state  Fourth-ranked Evansville Mater Dei making its third championship match in school history. appearance in four seasons in a state championship match.

 Bearcats seeking school’s third state tle overall.  Wildcats are seeking school’s fi rst girls soccer crown a er se ling for runner-up in prior two visits.  With a victory, Wheeler would become just the second undefeated, un ed state champion joining the 2002 Carmel  Team returned seven starters from last year’s 15-5-2 team team which fi nished 25-0. that fell in semi-state ac on.

 Wheeler returned seven starters from last year’s 19-2 squad.  Mater Dei fi nished fi h in the Southern Indiana Athle c Conference this season with 3-4 record.  Team won the Greater South Shore Conference championship with a 7-0 record this season.  Wildcats defeated three ranked opponents during the tournament - #19 South Spencer 7-1 in sec onal opener and  Bearcats turned away three ranked opponents during its #11 Providence 3-0 and #3 Vincennes Rivet 1-0 in regional tournament journey - defeated #15 Marque e Catholic 7-1 ac on. for the sec onal crown, #2 LaVille 5-0 in regional semifi nals and #5 Fort Wayne Blackhawk Chris an 2-0 for the semi-  First year Head Coach Amy Weber is the third diff erent state championship. Mater Dei coach in its three visits to the state fi nals.
