Vivaldi’s Mother tongue Italian Concerto RV93, Fermo (IT) Other languages German A2 (Goethe-Zertifikat) English C1 Scholarship “Lina Cinque”, Fermo (IT) Spanish C1 FRANCESCO PALMIERI Born in 1996, Francesco Palmieri is an Italian classical and electric guitarist. His artistic practice ranges from classical authors to contemporary music, free improvisation and music theatre, performing concerts on classical and electric guitars, mandolin and banjo, with fixed media, live-electronics and video. He graduated in 2017 with honors and honorable mention at the Conservatoire “G.B. Pergolesi” of Fermo under the guidance of Claudio Marcotulli. Then he attended the “III Master en Interpretaciónde Guitarra Clásica” at the University “Pablo de Olavide” of IOGRAPHY Seville, held by Francisco Bernier, Zoran Dukic, Antonio Duro, Pablo Marquez, Lorenzo B Micheli, Paolo Pegoraro and Judicael Perroy. At 17 he debuted as a soloist with the orchestra of the Conservatoire “G.B. Pergolesi” at the “Teatro dell’Aquila” in Fermo, receiving consequently the scholarship “Lina Cinque”. He gave concerts as soloist, in various chamber music groups and with orchestra in multiple occasions, including “Rassegna di Giovani Musicisti” in Nuoro, Festival “Federico Cesi” in Spello, Bevagna and within “Casa Menotti” of Spoleto, 2nd Survey “Giovani Promesse” in Montegranaro, in the “Centro Studi Osvaldo Licini” of Monte Vidon Corrado, in the “Generationenhaus” of Bern, in the “Kongresshaus” of Biel and in the “Sala Casella” of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana in Rome. In 2016 he won a scholarship to participate to the Workshop “Research-Led Performance. The guitar in the work of Mauricio Kagel, Giacomo Manzoni and Fausto Romitelli”, organized by the Institute of Music of the Giorgio Cini Foundation of Venice in cooperation with the Orpheus Institute of Ghent. In 2019 he becomes the first guitarist to receive the 1st prize at the prestigious International Competition for Interpretation of Contemporary Music “Valentino Bucchi” in Rome. Since September 2018 he is collaborating with the composer Simon Steen-Andersen on the CD “Drownwords” dedicated to his complete work for guitar. It will be released by Contrastes Records (UK) in spring 2020 and sees the participation of the percussionist Brian Archinal and the Vertigo Ensemble conducted by Lennart Dohms. He is currently attending the Master of Arts in Music Performance at the Hochschule der Künste of Bern with the teacher Elena Càsoli. In the last year of study he received important scholarships from the Haiku Stiftung and the Giovanni Iviglia Stiftung.
