  • Communiqué De Presse
Communiqué De Presse 27 JUILLET 2014 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Report HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX RACE REPORT Infiniti Red Bull RacingRenault driver Daniel Ricciardo raced to victory in today’s absorbing Hungarian Grand Prix. Daniel’s win, the second for the team and for the Renault Energy F12014 Power Unit this season, came after a thrilling threeway battle for the lead with Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. Sebastian Vettel secured seventh position for Infiniti Red Bull Racing and JeanEric Vergne ninth for Scuderia Toro Rosso, putting three Renault Energy F12014 Power Units into the top ten. The result consolidates Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s second position in the constructors’ championship and Daniel Ricciardo’s third in the drivers’ race. Key race points: Daniel Ricciardo mastered the everevolving track conditions to move into the lead on lap 9 during the first safety car period. He retained the lead until the second deployment of the safety car and then pitted for a third time in the final third of the race. The Australian hunted down Rosberg for P3, then made a bravado move on Lewis Hamilton for second on lap 67. The next lap he outbraked Alonso into the first corner for the lead and eased out a cushion of five seconds to seal his second career win and the second for the Renault Energy F12014 Power Unit. Sebastian Vettel was sitting in the top three until the first safety car. Pulling into the pits a lap after the following pack dropped him down the field, into the middle of a closefought battle for fourth position with Vergne, Rosberg and Hamilton.

  • Digital Transformation in Manufacturing Ecosystems: a Case of Supply and Knowledge Network Decoupling
POLITECNICO DI TORINO Collegio di Ingegneria Gestionale e della Produzione Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Gestionale (Engineering and Management) Tesi di Laurea Magistrale Digital transformation in manufacturing ecosystems: A case of supply and knowledge network decoupling Relatore Candidato prof. Marco Cantamessa Stefano Negrini Correlatore Prof. Paolo Aversa Anno Accademico 2017/2018 Digital transformation in manufacturing ecosystems Abstract Recently, the ecosystem perspective has offered a novel way to analyze technological diffusion and competition, which has been extensively leveraged to understand born-digital firms. These, however, represent only a part of the competitive landscape. Non-born-digital industries, like those focusing on manufacturing, have traditionally been arranged in a network composed by peripheral and core firms, with the latter characterized by holding superior knowledge and the control over the network. Yet, the “digital transformation” of non-born-digital firms is scarcely investigated, and we have limited understanding on how this process may shift the firms’ position in the knowledge and supply network, thus affecting the entire ecosystem. Through a longitudinal qualitative study of Dallara, an Italian motorsport firm that underwent a radical process of digital transformation, our research identifies the implications for the introduction of digital processes in a manufacturing company. We highlight how digital processes increased the firm’s technological modularity, relational orchestration, and knowledge assets, thus allowing the firm to increase its centrality in the knowledge network, while maintaining a peripheral position in the supply network. This corresponded to defocusing from its traditional manufacturing activities, but nonetheless led to increasing performance and sustained firm growth. Implications for theory and practice are discussed.

Bachelor Thesis (IBEB) Impact of Budget, Drivers and Team Personnel on Team Performance: Evidence from Formula 1 Motorsport Industry Student Name: Raghav Nitankumar Duggal Student ID Number: 444420 Supervisor: Dr Thomas LPR Peeters Second Assessor: Jan van Ours Date final version: 6th August 2020 Disclaimer: The views stated in this thesis are those of the author and not necessarily those of the supervisor, second assessor, Erasmus School of Economics or Erasmus University Rotterdam. 1 Acknowledgements I wish to thank all the people whose guidance and support enabled me to write this thesis. First and foremost, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to my thesis supervisor, Dr Thomas LPR Peeters of the department of Applied Economics at the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE), at Erasmus University Rotterdam. His indispensable help and proficiency of the subject allowed me to stay confident throughout the writing process of this study. Despite the unforeseen circumstances with the Covid-19 pandemic, professor Peeters always found time to schedule online meetings and ensure that I finish my thesis on time. His advice and encouragement kept me going as I went through the challenging process of conducting econometric analysis and interpreting my results. His seminars in Strategy Economics and our joint interest in Sports Economics convinced me to explore a field I initially had little knowledge of. I would also like to give a special mention to all my professors and tutors for sharing insightful knowledge about various fields of Economics and Business Economics throughout my bachelor’s degree. Alongside the core modules, I learnt how to structure and deliver a high-quality academic research using numerous scientific tools and research methods.

  • F1 Digest – Prelude to the Belgian Grand Prix
F1 Digest – Prelude to the Belgian Grand Prix Christine: The Belgian Grand Prix has always been a popular stop on the Formula One calendar, and its stock only increases when it brings us back from the four weeks of summer break. With an enforced fortnight of factory shutdown, the teams, the drivers, the fans, everyone is eager to get back to work, and there is no better place to rekindle the flames of the F1 season than at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps. Of course it has Eau Rouge, the challenging uphill chicane that is often proclaimed the best corner in the sport. But it also has an intense rest of the lap, great surroundings, brilliant fans, and some incredibly changeable weather. There’s an awful lot of fun in store this weekend at Spa. Mr C: Welcome to F1 Digest – Prelude to the Belgian Grand Prix. This is your Sidepodcast preview for the weekend’s racing action at Spa. Here’s your host, Christine Blachford. Christine: It’s almost pointless to talk about the weather at Spa from this far ahead, because the track has a micro- climate all to itself. Not only that, but as it is such a long circuit, the weather at one end can be completely different to that at the other. There aren’t many tracks where you could do with both wet and dry tyres on the same lap. Nevertheless, the long-range weather forecasts have done their best and there is rumoured to be plenty of sunshine on Friday, that gradually descends into clouds on Saturday for qualifying, and then even further to rain on race day.
