Leadership by Streetwise – Jewish Identity Trip to Budapest 27.10.2019 – 29.10.2019 On Sunday 27th October, 2019, 11 young leaders and 4 staff members went to Budapest for the Leadership by Streetwise programme’s second ever international Trip. The 3-day trip used parts of the Jewish Identity Programme from the European Maccabi Games 2019, and reshaped into relevant content for young leaders in training. At every site visited, the group had a guided tour and an informal educational activity that allowed them to connect with the site and history on a more personal level and to develop their leadership skills. Sunday started with a trip to the Citadella, a beautiful view-point of the city and home to the Hungarian Statue of Liberty. The topic of conversation was freedom, what it meant to us and to what extent we have it. This was linked with our Judaism and how visible we feel we can be with it, linking to a broader conversation about integration vs assimilation. We continued this theme throughout the trip to compare and contrast our lives as Jews in Britain, to the Jews living in Hungary today. From the Citadella we went on to Buda Castle and Fisheman’s Bastion. We discussed how the Jewish people came to Hungary in the middle ages and throughout history were persecuted and expelled, then brought back to the forefront of society for economic growth. The group got onto a discussion about teamwork and how it feels to play different roles within a team, to be needed, to be used, to be excluded.

Hanem olyan emberekből, akik ebben a kiadványunkban is szerepelnek. D. Kovács Róbert Kőbánya polgármestere 1 ZÁSZLÓSZALAG Budapest Főváros X. kerület Kőbányai Önkormányzat Képviselő-testülete 2012-ben rendeletet alkotott a kerületben élő, dolgozó, alkotó kiválóságok elismerésére.

This paper includes analysis of urban wind cli- 5 matology and estimation of wind profiles based on measurements of the new urban climate station located at the Eotv¨ os¨ University, observations of the meteorological sta- tion network of the Budapest agglomeration area, and multi-level wind measurements near Hegyhats´ al.´ Furthermore, wind field modelling (using the WAsP linear spectral wind flow model) is presented over selected representative complex areas that demon- 10 strates strong dependence between wind, height, topography, and roughness. 1 Introduction Urban areas and inhabitants of cities tend to increase; nowadays about half of the world total population live in urban settlements. The highest continental population density occurs in Europe where out of 750 million people 500 million live in large cities (Fenger 15 et al., 1998). This large number of dwellers and the socio-economic conditions pro- duce high industrial activity and modify urban air quality.

  • BUDAPEST-Sightseeing Survey at Google Maps, According to Listed S/N
BUDAPEST-Hungary Christos Gkoutzelis, HUNGARY-Budapest BUDAPEST-Sightseeing survey at google maps, according to listed s/n. 1. Liberty Bridge (Szabadsag hid) Liberty Bridge (Szabadság híd,is maybe the less attractive bridge in the city center ) is the one located at the southern end of city center, leading to Gellert Hill. The 333.6 m long bridge was built between 1894 and 1896. Its middle part was destroyed during World War II but it was rebuilt in 1945, and further restoration work was conducted to eliminate all war-related damage between 2007 and 2009. The bridge's main ornaments, four falcon-like bronze statues sitting on top of the bridge's four central masts (these are actually turuls, a mythological bird that represents power, strength and nobility in Hungary), were also restored. The bridge was originally named after the Emperor Franz Joseph, but it was renamed Liberty Bridge when the country was liberated from the Nazi occupation by the Soviet army at the end of World War II in 1945. The same year, the Liberation Monument was erected at the top of Gellert Hill. This imposing statue takes on the form of a woman holding a palm leaf above her head and can best be admired while crossing the bridge. 2. Corvinus University of Budapest (250m,3min from Szabadsag hid) In 1846, József Industrial School was opened gates for economics and trade for upper grade students. The immediate forerunner of the Corvinus University, the Faculty of Economics of the Royal Hungarian University, was established in 1920. The University admitting more than 14,000 students offers educational programmes inagricultural sciences, business administration, economics, and social sciences, and most these disciplines assure it a leading position in Hungarian higher education and is among the best institutions on various national and international rankings.
