Bizonyára tudják, hogy Budapest legismertebb, gyönyörű építményei, látnivalói a kerületünkben kitermelt kövekből állnak: a Lánchíd, a Citadella, a Mátyás-templom, a Halászbástya, az Akadémia, az Opera épülete, az Andrássy út számos palotája. De azt tudják-e, hogy Kőbánya miből épül fel? Kerületünk legfontosabb pillérei valójában nem kőből és habarcsból állnak. Hanem olyan emberekből, akik ebben a kiadványunkban is szerepelnek. Ők teszik olyan erőssé Kőbányát, az ő tetteik, az ő életük az, amelyre egy egész kerület fejlődését alapozzuk. Amivel ők szolgálják nap mint nap Kőbányát, azt nem lehet megtanítani semmilyen iskolában, nem lehet beleírni a munkaköri leírásba – az szívből jön. Ez teszi a foglalkozást hivatássá, ettől válik az ügyszám emberi sorssá, így lesz a gyerekből, a diákból kibontakozó tehetség, a páciensből Józsi bácsi vagy Tóth család – a munkából pedig a közösség szolgálata. Ez az, amitől igazán jó kőbányainak lenni. Igen, fontos a fejlődés, hogy megújuljanak a középületeink, megszépüljenek a köztereink, hogy megfelelő körülményeket biztosítsunk a gyerekeknek, az ügyfeleknek, a betegeknek. De ennél is fontosabb, hogy szeressünk itt élni. Akik hittel és elkötelezettséggel dolgoznak a közösségünkért, azok az emberek teszik igazán szerethetővé Kőbányát. Mi minden évben kiválasztjuk közülük azokat, akik a legjobbak voltak a legjobbak között, és az egész kerület nevében megköszönjük mindazt, amit Kőbányáért tesznek. Róluk szól ez a kiadvány. Fogadják szeretettel! D. Kovács Róbert Kőbánya polgármestere 1 ZÁSZLÓSZALAG Budapest Főváros X. kerület Kőbányai Önkormányzat Képviselő-testülete 2012-ben rendeletet alkotott a kerületben élő, dolgozó, alkotó kiválóságok elismerésére. Az e rendelet alapján kitüntetettek tevékenységére, munkásságára méltán lehetünk büszkék kerületen belül és azon túl egyaránt. Ez évben is sok javaslat érkezett, és nem volt könnyű dolga a döntéshozóknak, hogy elismerésben részesítsék a kiválók között a legkiválóbbakat, azokat, akiket példaként állíthatnak mindannyiunk elé. A 2018. évben immár harmadik alkalommal döntött a kerületi Képviselő-testület zászlószalag adományozásáról. Zászlószalagot csapatzászlóval rendelkező szervezet részére lehet adományozni. Ebben az évben a Terrorelhárítási Központ részére adományozott zászlószalagot a Kőbányai Önkormányzat. De mi is az a csapatzászló? A csapatzászló a hazához, a nemzethez, az eskühöz és a csapathoz való kitartó hűség, valamint a bátorság, a katonai becsület és a bajtársiasság jelképe, az adott katonai szervezetet önmagában is megtestesítő szimbólum. Kifejezi az elkötelezettséget és tiszteletet a magyar történelmi hagyományok iránt, a haza biztonsága iránti odaadást, elhivatottságot, a közösség erejét. De ki is a Terrorelhárítási Központ, a TEK? A TEK-et 2010-ben hozta létre Magyarország Kormánya. Egyesítette a rendészeti szervek és a polgári titkosszolgálatok terrorellenes feladatait, valamint egyes személyvédelmi feladatokat. A TEK egy modern, jól felszerelt, jól szervezett alakulat, amely képes szembenézni a nemzetközi terrorizmus jelentette kihívásokkal is. Illetékessége az egész országra kiterjed, és a rendészetért felelős miniszter irányítása alatt álló, önálló költségvetési szerv. Megalapításának fő célja 2 az, hogy az azonos munkafolyamatokat és feladatokat az információáramlás és a beavatkozások hatékonyságának növelése érdekében egy egységbe integrálja. Három fő kizárólagos hatáskörrel végzett feladata: Magyarország terrorfenyegetettségének elemzése és felmérése; a miniszterelnök és a legfőbb ügyész védelme; valamint a Magyarország területén történő terrortámadások és emberrablások megelőzése, kezelése és felszámolása. És miért ők kapják 2018-ban a zászlószalagot? A Terrorelhárítási Központ Kőbánya területén található, az Önkormányzattal évek óta kiváló kapcsolatot ápoló szervezet. Mit fejez ki a zászlószalag? A csapatzászlóra tűzött szalag kifejezi az adományozó nagyrabecsülését, tiszteletét az adományozott felé. A szalagot Kovács Róbert Kőbánya polgármestere tűzte fel a csapatzászlóra ünnepélyes keretek között, a Szent László Napok nyitóeseményén, 2018. június 21-én a Kőrösi Kulturális Központ színháztemében. Kiadványunk első részében megismerhetik a 2018. évben elismerésben részesültek életrajzát, és a döntés indokolását, valamint a díjazottak üzenetét, hitvallását. A második részben bemutatjuk azon személyeket, akikről – nagyrabecsülése okán – a képviselő-testület elnevezte az elismeréseket.     Leadership by Streetwise – Jewish Identity Trip to Budapest 27.10.2019 – 29.10.2019 On Sunday 27th October, 2019, 11 young leaders and 4 staff members went to Budapest for the Leadership by Streetwise programme’s second ever international Trip. The 3-day trip used parts of the Jewish Identity Programme from the European Maccabi Games 2019, and reshaped into relevant content for young leaders in training. At every site visited, the group had a guided tour and an informal educational activity that allowed them to connect with the site and history on a more personal level and to develop their leadership skills. Sunday started with a trip to the Citadella, a beautiful view-point of the city and home to the Hungarian Statue of Liberty. The topic of conversation was freedom, what it meant to us and to what extent we have it. This was linked with our Judaism and how visible we feel we can be with it, linking to a broader conversation about integration vs assimilation. We continued this theme throughout the trip to compare and contrast our lives as Jews in Britain, to the Jews living in Hungary today. From the Citadella we went on to Buda Castle and Fisheman’s Bastion. We discussed how the Jewish people came to Hungary in the middle ages and throughout history were persecuted and expelled, then brought back to the forefront of society for economic growth. The group got onto a discussion about teamwork and how it feels to play different roles within a team, to be needed, to be used, to be excluded.

We do not eat just to survive, but first of all we choose healthy and delicious food. This trend is also observed on week days and holidays. Moreover, the desire to discover traditional, regional dishes or other nations’ culinary culture become a strong motivation for tourists. Many travellers arrive in Hungary with various stereotypes and misinformation, and they leave with a wealth of experience. Hungary is located in the Carpathian Basin and its environmental features (temperate climate zone, 2°C positive tempera- ture anomaly due to the distance from the oceans, four seasons, pedo- and biogeographical richness, etc.) determine the agricultural potential. However, the culinary culture of the nation, customs and development of cuisine are also closely related to the history of the country. Centuries-long migrations of proto-Hungarians and their arrival in the Carpathian Basin have resulted in the continuous adaptation and mixing of traditions, ways of life and methods of various nations (e.g.
