DC Recycling Systems (DC), locally-owned by LRS, is the exclusive service provider for the weekly garbage, recycling and yard waste collection for incorporated Village of Montgomery homes. Homes in Montgomery automatically receive this service paid for through the village utility billing.

EXCLUDED UNINCORPORATED AREAS

Boulder Hill and unincorporated Montgomery homes are not included in this service program but may call 844.633.3577 to inquire on unincorporated Montgomery subscription service options or visit Kane County’s web page at: https://www.countyofkane.org/recycling for a list of licensed waste collection service providers.

SERVICE START TIME, SERVICE DAYS, MISSED PICK-UP • Service takes place Monday through Friday: • All materials must be out for collection by 6:00 AM. • Garbage, Recycle, Yard waste, Electronic Waste, Household Hazardous Waste, Appliance Collection are all different staff/trucks. They do not arrive at the same time. • Late Out? It happens! DC may still be in the area! HOLIDAY SCHEDULE DC Recycling Systems observes the following six (6) major holidays. There will be no collection on the holiday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday or weekday prior to your regular collection day, service will be delayed and provided on the following day.

• DC collects one (1) appliance weekly | • Advance 48-hour notice required • Washer, dryer, dishwasher, air conditioner, stove, refrigerator, dehumidifier, etc. • Additional appliance - $100 paid in advance by credit card or check by phone

LARGE OR BULK ITEMS, CARPET

DC collects one (1) large item weekly | Advance 48-hour notice preferred Washer, dryer, dishwasher, air conditioner, stove, refrigerator, dehumidifier, etc. • Additional large items are $20 each (some exceptions apply) – Call to schedule for collection day • Carpet - 4’ (four foot) rolls not to exceed 50 pounds. Eight (8) rolls of carpet is considered one large item.

RECYCLING COLLECTION INFORMATION

DC Recycling Systems collects recycling once per week on the same day as the garbage and seasonal yard waste. There is no limit to the amount of recyclables we will collect so long as they are properly prepared and containerized. DC provides a 65-gallon recycle cart on wheels with a flip top lid for homes in the Village of Montgomery. Refer to section on CARTS AND CONTAINERS for more information on damaged, lost, and stolen or options regarding your recycle cart or container. Please review the following lists to see what is and isn’t recyclable with the curbside program. Many items that are recyclable cannot be collected with the curbside program because of how the materials are processed. PERSONAL CONTAINERS ONLY IF DC CARTS ARE FULL

• If you have extra garbage or recycle materials that don’t fit into the DC cart, you may use your own container. • May not exceed 35 gallons

• May not exceed 50 pounds when full and has two handles. We recommend using a container and not placing loose garbage bags to the cub.

YARD WASTE WEEK BEGINNIN APRIL 1 AND ENDING WEEK OF NOV 30 ON SERVICE DAY

• Place materials curbside by 6AM. • Service takes place the same day as your garbage and recycling collection.

YARD WASTE CONTAINERS AND BAGS

• Use 35-gallon (or less) container with two handles • Use brown paper or ‘Kraft’ style biodegradable landscape / yard waste bags • Containers or bags may not weigh over 50 pounds

BRUSH/BRANCH BUNDLES

• Tie with twine or string • 4’ (Four Feet) Length • Branches should not exceed 4” (Four Inches) diameter • Bundle cannot exceed 50 lbs. • Unbunled brush will not be collected

CHRISTMAS TREES Christmas Trees are collected every year at no charge, January 2nd through January 31st on your regular collection day. Please remove everything from the tree. No decorations.

SPECIAL PICK UP DC will arrange for a special pick up of construction debris or move out waste. Call or contact DC Customer Service online to schedule and for more information.
