The Netherlands and Great Britain will be using the event as one of their final preparations in the run up to the World Championships in Nanning, China. There has never been a more exciting time for Men’s Gymnastics in Great Britain and our boys will once again have to prove they are amongst the best in the World to ensure they are select- ed. With our Junior Boys once again crowned Champions of Europe, the GB Senior Squad are having to increase dif- ficulty and improve execution to gain selection and continue their competitive journey towards Rio 2016 whilst the youngsters chase them forwards. JLA has generously continued their sponsorship of the event after being so im- pressed with what they witnessed last year. We look forward to welcoming you all to our competition and wish all our gymnasts every success. ith the addition of The London Open Elite Performance Pathway competition, the Championships this year sees 479 gymnasts compete across three days of competition. Starting with Friday’s competition, 120 W gymnasts take part across four elite levels. Supporting the new Performance Pathway Performance system recently launched by British Gymnastics, we are delighted at the uptake in this competition in its second year with triple the entry from last year. It is perhaps testament to the depth of young talent across the country. Not forgetting our ever popular London Development Open which this year has seen an increase to 246 entries and ca- ters for our club gymnasts from around the country. The NDP structure is simple, quality gymnastics performed with precision and excellence. With many of the Seniors coming through this system it is clear to see that it’s impact on Men’s Gymnastics in Great Britain is immeasurable. The main event, The JLA London Men’s Open on Saturday sees the very best male gymnasts in Great Britain. Across the 3 competitions; The Clayton Bolt, Loveday Shield and Westminster Cup we will see 113 gymnasts competing to be crowned champion of one of these prestigious trophies. We are delighted this year that our GBR gymnasts will also be challenged by international stars from the Netherlands and Mexico. The Westminster Cup on Saturday evening is the jewel in the crown, and we have a star studied line up looking to add their name to this prestigious trophy. We take a look at previous International Medallists to give you a flavour of the standard you will witness at the event.
